Since the appeal will be based on the evidence presented in Court, holding back evidence for appeal would be a VERY foolish strategy.
He does have a multitude of legal issues to raise on appeal, however.
I would be very surprised if this were not reversed on appeal.

Trump originally told Bannon he was invoking executive privilege. He only changed his position on that in the week or so prior to this trial.

Didn’t the House ignore their own published rules by declining to appoint the 6 or so (R) representatives to the J6 committee that had been nominated by (R) minority leader McCarthy?
I am not certain how much legal wiggle room exists once the appeals process is entered. I believe that appeals can be based on interpretations of law. Perhaps one appealable item is the exclusion of a motion to dismiss (if such a motion was filed) based on the lack of legitimacy of the J6 committee formation itself. Perhaps this could be construed as a due process violation?
It appears that DC has become a legally dangerous place for conservatives. If the Russians or Chinese choose DC to nuke first, I won’t be shedding any tears because we are demonstrably much better off without DC.
