Joe Biden Risks Impeachment if Democrats Lose Both House and Senate
Newsweak ^ | 7/16/22 | Darragh Roche

Democrats could be facing major losses in this year's crucial midterm elections as Republicans aim to take back the House of Representatives and the Senate in November.

If President Joe Biden's party loses control of both chambers, he could end up facing impeachment after several Republicans indicated that GOP majorities would move in that direction.

In January, Republican Senator Ted Cruz said there would be "multiple grounds" for impeaching Biden, while in April, Republican Representative Ken Buck told a virtual meeting that the House Judiciary Committee would "hold the hearings to determine whether impeachment is appropriate. We'll vote on impeachment. And then it will be presented to the full House."

A University of Massachusetts Amherst poll published in May found that 68 percent of Republicans and 66 percent of conservatives wanted Biden to be impeached if Republicans take the House, while 53 percent of Republicans believed a GOP-led House would impeach him.

Articles of impeachment can be passed by a simple majority vote in the House but a president can only be removed by a two-thirds majority vote in the Senate. This has never happened and it appears unlikely Republicans will have the necessary number of seats in 2023.

The Dems are trying to motivate their troops by persuading them that if they lose the House, Biden will be impeached.

Impeachment is stupid and if you don’t have 67 Senators ready to convict, which we don’t, it may even be counter productive.

The last thing the voters will want in a painful economic environment, is more time wasted on political theater.

Impeachment may have made sense before the 22nd Amendment, but now a President can only do *8 years.
This administration wouldn’t even exist, even with their cheating, if 7 million Biden/Harris Republicans wouldn’t have “jumped ship.”

We need to be the party of agriculture, industry/manufacturing, finance, hard work, strong defense, pro-life, The bill of rights, The Constitution, pragmatic “non war mongering” foreign policy, and freedom from statist control freaks.

* Technically, a VP could be President for 2 years and win two elections for a total of 10, but it hasn’t happened at this point in USA history.

“The thing is impeachment gets us Kamala, or possibly Pelosi.”

Kamala may actually be less dangerous.

This must be a joke...

If the communists lose the House and Senate, it will not be controlled by any group dedicated to the former Constitution and the former Republic...

The good-old-boys gang will run their mouths, wave their hands, organize a few studies, and then... crickets... as they continue to ignore the chains around our necks...

Open borders, 45-to-50 million MIVs already here, globalism, deficit spending, endless regulations, etc...etc...

Nothing of significance will happen as the GOP simply acts as a placeholder until the communists, in 2024, steal back absolute control, just like they did in 2020...

Republicans are too pathetic to even attempt to impeach Biden even if it was just for show.

Biden should not be impeached until Kamala Harris is removed from VP.

Let’s not go even close to Harris as POTUS!

I think Kamala would be better, much better, and better in a lot of ways because she can be better and continue to be better while working with others to be better than Joe Biden.

***************************************************************

Rag Newsweek, famous for having been bought for 1 dollar a few years ago, misses the point. The point is that IF the Republicans wake up on November 9 with a solid majority in the Senate and House then it becomes a BIG question as to whether or not the Senate CAN CONVICT or will even NEED to convict.

Faced with a similar situation, 3 Senators went down to the White House on August 7, 1974 and advised Nixon that he was doomed. Meaning that he would be impeached and that there was enough Senators and Representatives willing to vote YAY!

The next day, August 8, Nixon resigned.

So, let’s say the Pubs got 55 Senators in November and they need 12 more Democrats.

Here’s a newsflash to SOME Freepers who love to be the first to say “NEVER HAPPEN !!!”.

Millions of Democrats want to get rid of the sob. So, 12 more Senators could repeat August 7, 1974 and go down to the White House and chat with jill and Joe.

Let us Pray! American can’t afford two more years of Joe Biden.

I think the point of the argument to the converse is that because of what the Democrats did with Nixon and avoided with Clinton they turned the Impeachment process loaded in the Constitution into a tool of Political warfare instead of a tool of government reform and adjudication.

If the Republicans have less that the required removal vote, it will never come about —”I don’t care if he shot someone dead on the capital steps.” (or words to that effect)

As a side note the Democrats have weaponized Impeachment. For most of our history impeachment was off the table but what they did to President Trump is going to come back and bite them in the butt.

Yep. Time to turn Brandon into a lame duck permanently by impeaching him. The best place to start an investigation would be into Joe Biden's fiasco in the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan.

There is no Obama machine and Obama is no mastermind, he answers to others himself. Those at the top of the Deep State control it all and have for a very long time.

Yep. Look out for some kind of fatal medication mix-up.

I would not expect that particular scenario. A Democrat-appointed doctor would end up being held responsible all too easily.

Whatever they do to get rid of Biden and Harris must be staged so that they can blame it on Donald Trump (and his supporters).

Some kind of "unexpected and tragic event".

I would guess the replacement teams are already proposed and waiting for the call. Probably some combination of a black woman and a white man.

Many plans are made. Few of them are implemented. Even fewer succeed. The opposition always has a say in how things evolve.
