In a speech on Monday, Jill Biden said the Latino community was "as unique as the breakfast tacos here in San Antonio."
Biden made the remarks at a Latino advocacy conference in the Alamo City. Her remarks drew swift rebuke from Republicans and others, including the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, which issued a statement saying her comment “demonstrates a lack of cultural knowledge and sensitivity to the divinity of Latinos in the region.” NAHJ encourages @FLOTUS & her communications team to take time to better understand the complexities of our people & communities.

But other critics leaned into Biden’s breakfast taco comparison, including U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz. At first puzzled by Biden’s remarks, Cruz later said in a tweet that “personally, I’m a chorizo, egg & cheese.”
The Express-News asked locals on social media, including Reddit, Twitter and a local food Facebook group: “If you were a breakfast taco, what would you be?”
Most said they would be chorizo mixed with a myriad of add-ons such as huevos, frijoles and papas. The second-most popular response, as one reader put it, was: “Bean and cheese, a delicious classic.”

Jill Biden may think that Hispanics are only as unique as tacos, but I actually found the perfect taco for her husband.
As you can see, it’s just a shell!
I am a carnitas and chichherone taco. Best one I had was at a Stripes gas station in Corpus Christi about 15 years ago. Haven’t found one like that since.
