Canadian researchers preparing a study on how to tax cow farts
The Western Standard online ^ | July 9, 2022 | Christopher Oldcorn

Canadian researchers want to study how much carbon is released into the air from cow burps and farts.

That study would open the door for the federal government to put a carbon tax on cow burps and farts like New Zealand implemented.

In an interview with the Western Standard, University of Alberta researcher Cameron Carlyle talked about a new study he's putting together to measure the carbon released into the air from cow belches and toots.

“I was just in a meeting … to discuss trying to put together a new project where we tackle that question because it’s an important one for the beef industry,” said Carlyle.

“And it’s an important one for conservation of grasslands … from the beef industry perspective. They're criticized for their greenhouse gas footprint, which is largely emissions from cattle. So, all their burping of methane out into the atmosphere.”

American Bison are also ruminants. Herds extended on the Great Plains for as far as the eye could see. They burp and fart also.

So tell us then, was it a good thing the white man hunted them to near extinction? They were only trying to save the planet from certain doom.

Is this idiot going to kill off all the
moose in Canada also? They’re just as bad
as cows are when it comes to emitting this
planet destroying gas.

Bovine beasts allow land that has soil that is too poor for crops to be used to produce food.

In the 1970s, Europe produced so much CO2 that acid rain fell.

Did the planet become unbearably hot? No!

Air temperature varies greatly by altitude. See the graph about half-way down:

a mol of methane, weighing 16 g, has a volume of 22.4 liters at standard temperature and pressure (STP).
National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. 2010.

The average cow emits 264 lbs of methane per year on average primarily via the mouth it’s a myth they feet the gas is produced in the rumen in the front of the digestive track. So some crayon eating math as in primary school level.

Lbs to grams... One US point is 453.592 grams

264lbs times 453.592 = 119,748.288 grams per year.

119,748.288 / 365 = 328.0775 grams per day

328.0775 / 16g(mol) = 20.505 miles

20.505mol * 22.4l(stp) = 459.309 liters per day.

Love me some cows but they do burp a lot farts not so much.

You are off by three times. Humans produce on average about one liter per day of intestinal gas of that 7% is methane the rest is carbon dioxide, nitrogen and sulfur compounds. The stinky stuff is hydrogen sulfide. Yes people do study this stuff with high tech mass spectrometry at that. NSF funds at work.

This was started by American marxist and con artist Jeremy Rifkin of the fake People’s Bicentennial Commission (PBC) in 1976 and the pro -Hanoi Citizens Committee of Inquiry into US War Crimes in Vietnam.

Rifkin later changed the old PBC into an extortion type racket (a prototype template for Black Lives Matter) known as the People’s Business Commission. He used the cow carts-methane argument to transform himself into an environmentalist leader.

There is a lot on him on the internet including Frank Watson’s and others testimony about July 1976 before the Sen. Internal Security Subcom., Sen Judiciary Committee and at WWW.keywiki.org.

I truly understand and appreciate your
sense of humor. My tag line “Eat More
Moose” has been there since this “climate
change” garbage started, many moons ago.
Forest fires, volcanic eruptions, methane
releases (by whatever means), nuclear
accidents, the industrial revolution....
all have contributed to the horrors of
Co2 being released into our planets’
atnosphere for hundreds of years.
Don’t know about you, but July temps
haven’t made any appreciable changes
in my 67 years on mother earths’ surface.
She does a pretty good job of healing
herself on her own, without the help
of a despots’ extortion.

Maybe all these “immigrants” should be mandated to wear an insertable device to measure the gas output and sent a tax bill.

-—one liter per day of intestinal gas——

For the record, is the volume calculated as standard temperature and pressure?

Boyle’s law controls the volume
