I believe my second uncle Hiroshi Miyamura is now the oldest living recipient at age 96. Awarded for action in Korea.
God rest your soul, Soldier.
In that pic it looks like he has an Army Good Conduct medal as well.
.
RIP, hero.
Rest in peace, Mr. Williams.
Job well done. Life well lived.
They fought for American freedom. Now it looks in shambles.
The picture is of someone else who was awarded the Army MOA along with a SS which would explain the CIB — trust the DM to mess things up.
Just went and read about Hiroshi. Sounds like a great man!
MOA = MoH
The picture is of Charles H. Coolidge — here’s a link to his wiki page:

ping to you
Looks like the DailyMail is as accurate with this as it is with their Ukraine reporting.
Williams said he didn’t recall any of what he had done that day. It was all a blur.
He was definitely “in the zone.”
And at cookouts, I’ll bet he was pretty good on the grill.
Thank you.
The true patriots are leaving us. I used to think of them as old. Now I think of them as a little beyond middle aged.
I constantly see Death around the corner. That guy will have to wait 3 or 4 decades if I have any say (and I do).
The difference between young and old is when you see that SOB.
Just went and read about Hiroshi. Sounds like a great man!
He is. Very low key and humble person.
One story that came out in the past few years was he saved the life of his wounded buddy while being taken to the POW camp. At the POW camp he just subjected to extra brutal treatment by the North Korean guards because he was of Japanese heritage.
