People | By Hannah Chubb

MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, a passionate Trump supporter who has made baseless claims of election fraud, told PEOPLE he thinks the companies are acting "all in fear"

Several home goods stores will no longer be selling MyPillow, and controversial CEO Mike Lindell is claiming it's because of his political views.

Lindell, 59 an ardent supporter of former President Donald Trump, who has faced backlash for echoing the former president's baseless claims that the election was "stolen," recently appeared on conservative outlet Right Side Broadcasting Network, where he told host Brian Glenn that he believes retailers are afraid of being "canceled" for partnering with him.

In the short run they’ll save money on AC... in the long run customers will stay away. Short term benefits, long term disaster is the recipe for bankruptcy...

From the article:

The retailer denied it is penny-pinching on utility costs. “We’ve been contacted about this report, and to be clear, no Bed Bath & Beyond stores were directed to adjust their air conditioning and there have been no corporate policy changes in regard to utilities usage,” the company told The Post on Tuesday.

So it is not confirmed that this is really happening, or if some store simply had A/C problems.

Well they are not selling any more high-margin "My Pillow" products these days and a lot of conservatives are no longer patronizing their stores so I can see why their profits are down.

Go woke, go broke.

They dropped Ivanka products too, as they went never-Trump and
all-in on vaccine mandates, etc.

Very poor business decisions.

By Yaёl Bizouati-Kennedy

Excerpt:

Bed Bath & Beyond announced its CEO, Mark Tritton, was stepping down on June 29. The news came following missed earnings and in an effort to focus “on reversing recent results, addressing supply chain and inventory, and strengthening its balance sheet,” the company said in a press release.

Them dropping Lindell is why I quit going there. Maybe alienating half their customer base was not a good idea?

Yep, bad business decisions tainted by Left wing politics seems to be the cause of their problems. Oh well.

I'm old enough to remember when a stores major advertisement was that "WERE AIR CONDITIONED" come inside and enjoy.

We didn't have AC at home or in the schools.

An attic fan in your home was a life saver.

Just ordered fro MyPillow from the air conditioned comfort of my home. Their stinky stuffy stores cannot close any too soon.

Go woke, go broke. Dropping Lindell is the kiss of death. That’s their long term problem. I hope the same happens to Walmart. I made my last trip to Walmart at the height of the pandemic. The had portable lighting in the parking lot and loud speakers blaring about bull shit health safety procedures. Big retail got to stay open in Pennsylvania as Governor Wolf deemed them as essential. Small business had to close operations. Eff Walmart. Eff Bed Bath and Beyond. They will never get a dime of my money.

they aren’t baseless claims. Nor does Trump or anyone know if Trump won. We do know that there was a lot of election laws broken, and plenty of evidence of vote fraud and ballot harvesting, including here in Wisconsin.

90 degrees and equal humidity outside. Let’s turn off the air conditioning so that it will be hotter inside than outside. Yep, a sure fire way to cut costs and draw in more customers so they can be hotter and sweatier than the are passing by to another business who keeps the A/C on to lure in customers.

It's common for people who can't afford air conditioned comfort at home to "head to the mall" where businesses are air conditioned. Business enjoys lots of impulse buy traffic from that behavior. BB&B is going to drive away those customers with a hot, stuffy store. They will shop elsewhere.

I used to love Bed Bath and Beyond years and years ago. They had great products, especially the quirky bedware company Nick & Nora — great stuff. They really began to slide (curiously) right about the time Obama took office. Now, they have the feel of a KMart, and they seem to hire the lowest of the low.

I’d already decided I wouldn’t shop there once they booted Mike Lindell’s My Pillow stuff.

B. B. & B. should start training their employees to say, “Thank you,” to its customers.

I always want to go into unAC stores in 100 degree weather. If I want to sweat while shopping, I’d take my computer into the sauna and online shop. 🤓
