I have very complicated feelings about Donald Trump right now (pantywaist contemplates)

Trump didn’t simply tarnish the GOP brand in certain circles — that’s a very temporary thing, and Republicans of all stripes had done plenty to tarnish the brand on their own. Trump habituated Republicans and conservatives into conspiracy-theorizing, into lib-owning as the highest undertaking, and into defending corruption and abuse of power.

Yet Trump brought about the end of Roe. That is something every prior Republican decidedly couldn’t do or refused to do.

The majority in Roe included five Republican appointees. The majority in 1992 upholding Roe in Planned Parenthood v. Casey included five Republican appointees. Pro-life voters were told endlessly to elect Republican presidents and senators in order to overturn Roe, and again and again, after Souters and O'Connors and Kennedys, this proved folly. Even George W. Bush, the closest thing to a religious Right president, didn’t give us two reliable votes against Roe.

It took, of all people, Trump to give us a majority more wedded to the Constitution than to abortion.

No issue in politics is more important than abortion because no cause is more righteous than protecting innocent babies from slaughter. No president did more good on abortion than Trump. So this makes things complicated.

How is a pro-life conservative who is fully aware of Trump’s crippling vices and his lasting harms to feel today?

One relevant question is whether a different Republican nominee would have yielded as good results, Supreme Court-wise, in 2016 through 2020 as Trump did. First, would Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush, John Kasich, or Ted Cruz have beaten Hillary? Maybe anybody with a pulse would have defeated that obviously corrupt, thoroughly unlikable, entirely opportunistic politician. Then again, maybe it took Trump's unique appeal to the working-class voter in order to carry Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin in 2016.

Samuel Adams eloquently nailed this kind of man.

“I am no fan of Mitch, but he called that one right, I will give him that.”

I get the feeling that Mitch McConnell and several other Republicans are regretting their decision about Merrick Garland.

The decision to not elevate Garland to the SCOTUS was mad prior to Trump becoming president. Their burning hatred for Trump would make advancing the nomination of Garland a foregone conclusion.

Crippling vices????

Talk about a blithering idiot, this one takes the cake. If Trump had been caught doing on video what Biden has, it would have been calls for his execution. I am not even touching the diary.

When you have courts refusing to take your cases, how can you get to prove anything?

What the courts did is proof of a silent coup. We are being ruled by usurpers.

I doubt ANYONE who voted for Trump in 2016 fully trusted Trump. I sure didn’t, but still voted for him.

"I did"

Check my home page to see how obnoxious I was in my Trump support.

I was looking at how he ridiculed and denigrated the Media. That's all I cared about, because I hate those lying election and opinion manipulators.

He was on that like a heavy sweat.

Then you didn’t vote for him in 2016?

It was on him to prove it. He didn’t and it really messed things up, including Jan 6th. I am ready to move on to a different candidate.

The Democrats and the Assistant Democrats were never going to let him or anyone else prove anything about 2020.

You have to understand that there were a number of Republicans "assisting" the Democrats in The Steal.

Due to the Republican-conservative voting coalition, Pubbies are ALWAYS guaranteed a seat at the table of political power. They don't have to really work for anything, and they're content to do a 50-50 split with their Democrat buddies.

Look at the Repuke weasels in the Senate who sold us out on gun control just this week.

Since the Democrats are only about 40% of the voting public, they have spent decades getting "creative" in their big-city strongholds. This is how they get their "amazing" victories.

I hope to vote for him a third time.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>..
If you do, along with most everyone else who voted for him in the last election, he will have won THREE CONSECUTIVE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS!

Mitch voted to confirm Garland as AG. What regret?

I also hope to vote for him a third time.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I’m praying everyday that in 2024 he becomes the only candidate since FDR who will have won THREE consecutive presidential elections. If that happens the appointment calendars of every mental health facility in the country will be completely booked for years by Democrats who have gone insane! Please God let it happen!

Anyone who does not fully support President Trump in 2024 is an absolute FOOL!
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Absolutely true. Unfortunately there are tens of millions of absolute fools schlepping around the streets of our country’s ‘rat-infested big cities, and many of them are RINOs.

Now that the politicians are going to have to publicly state if they are for or against abortion it will be up to the prelates of the Church to stand up as well and defend the faith and call the faithful to conversion on this issue.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>...
Well I’m betting that half of them will either clam up or publicly side with the baby killers, because many Catholic clergy are practicing homosexuals and consequently ideological leftists.

I am totally prepared to vote for Trump all the way if he runs in 2024. If not it’s DeSantis!
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Governor DeSantis is now sending out letters requesting contributions for his reelection campaign. I just received mine on Thursday.

I’m glad Trump was President. Voted for him twice. I hope Trump does not run again. Desantis, Cruz and even maybe Rand Paul would be my preference.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.
Huh? Do you realize that your preferences (and I support all of them) are clueless relative to one of Trump’s major strong points, which is how international capitalism is supposed to work? And in addition to that, Trump has already demonstrated IN SPADES that he will do what he says he’s going to do. MAGA is his passion, not simply a campaign slogan. Think it over, my friend!

A guy like Trump, who accomplished an enormous number of positive things despite the disloyalty of the FBI and many in his own party, enrages them.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>..
Absolutely true. I posted several times on other threads that deciding which Republican candidates to vote for is easy. Simply pay attention to which candidates the Democrats, the RINOs, other Swamp creatures, and the Soviet-style news media HATES the most and vote for those candidates. You cannot make a mistake using that strategy!

The Trump hate was all about his willingness to stop the flow of illegal aliens.

Importing a new electorate has been the biggest bipartisan project of the last 30 years and they were not about to let Donald Trump (or us) stop it.

You need to let us know of the under 65 years of age Republican politicians that can defeat Trump in 2024.

They don’t have the money or the name recognition to accomplishment this feat BTW.

Plus most of the younger crowd are urban politically correct wokesters, which is the way of the past(1968-2016) not the way of the future.(2016-moving forward)

The massive post ww2 urbanization project is coming to an end. The urbanites have become wealthy & hateful, which is a bad combination.

These hateful ideologies are a direct threat to the industrial/manufacturing, energy, & agricultural sectors of our great nation.

If the people that want to talk about racism, sexism, and environmental zealotry aren’t stopped, our supply chains will evaporate..... like water.
