Former President Donald Trump said Friday that the Supreme Court overturned the Roe v. Wade decision establishing a national right to abortion because he was able to install three nominees on the bench during his term in office.
Mr. Trump called the ruling “the biggest win for life in a generation” and said it was “only made possible because I delivered everything as promised.”
“I did not cave to the Radical Left Democrats, their partners in the Fake News Media, or the RINOs who are likewise the true, but silent, enemy of the people,” the former GOP president said in a statement issued by his political action committee.
Mr. Trump nominated three of the court members in the majority in Friday’s ruling: Justices Neil M. Gorsuch, Brett M. Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett.
They joined Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr., a George W. Bush appointee, and Justice Clarence Thomas, a George H.W. Bush appointee, in striking down Roe. Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr., another George W. Bush pick, sided with the others in upholding Mississippi’s 15-week abortion ban, but said he would not have overruled all of Roe at this point.

This is what I cannot stand about Trump.
It’s all about him.
Trump should get credit not only for his judicial picks, but for showing cowering conservatives that is possible to buck “conventional wisdom” and actually change the direction of our government.
Now if the RINOs only got the message....
I also agree that Trump’s ego is his worst enemy. Let other give you the credit. It’s much more meaningful that way.
As he promised. Row vs Wade is not small thing to overturn. That alone sealed trump as one of the greatest US Presidents
Trump is right
I think the world of President Trump, and am grateful for his presidency and am hopeful we can have another one (where he gets better advice on filling positions).
He is not one to be exact in his phrasing, and by his own admission hyperbole is what he does.
Look at it this way. Instead of downplaying the significance of today’s decision and almost apologizing for it, he is drawing the fire that would otherwise be aimed at pro-life churches and crisis pregnancy centers.
He is also goading the left into an intemperate response, not that they need much goading.
Say what you will, the man is built for the arena.

Unfortunately, most came to fruition via EOs as the GOP fought him nearly as hard as the Dems did. Those were EO’d to oblivion the first weeks of the Biden regime. This glorious turn of events can’t be subverted by the regime. Thank you, President Trump.

When Trump first ran, I thought he would not do this. My impression was that he was a New York City Republican. Either he didn’t care about social issues or was liberal on them. I thought social issues would not be on his agenda. But they were and he should get credit for this. Not all the professional conservatives who though picks like Roberts, Souter and Meyers were good. This is one area where Trump deserves a victory lap.
It’s pretty incontrovertible that we wouldn’t even be discussing this if not for President Trump’s term in office. He is largely responsible for it.
