Legal abortion came to an end in Missouri on Friday with the activation of the state's "trigger law," banning the procedure minutes after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned its federal constitutionality.
The high court's ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization allows states to impose their own laws on abortion, overturning the 1973 decision Roe v. Wade that established it as legal under the U.S. Constitution. A 2019 law passed by Missouri's Republican legislature says "no abortion shall be performed or induced upon a woman, except in cases of medical emergency," taking effect after the Supreme Court "has overruled, in whole or in part, Roe v. Wade."
Attorney General Eric Schmitt, a Republican, signed an opinion Friday morning activating the trigger law.

Reciprocity may force Missouri to recognize same sex unions (I won’t use the word marriage for these) formed in other states but it doesn’t require performing them in state. The first step is not forcing states to perform them.
Tennessee’s goes into effect in 30 days.
As states pass pro-abortion laws like New York and Illinois recently did, it will be so obvious that white Democrats want to exterminate black Americans.
I have no idea. Texas’ trigger law automatically goes into effect after 30 days but Paxton went ahead and enacted it today. I don’t know if MO was the same or if it required enacting.
Reciprocity is based off n equally meritorious actions, like a driver’s license or a professional license. I find it onerous to identify a same sex perversion in the same category as a heterogeneous joining of man and woman. Not the same biologically, morally or practically. Not the same. Not found in nature, only in human activity.
California nor New York will be affected...
Hooray! I’m here in Missouri rejoicing!
Well done indeed.
It all worked together for something good.
If you read the Good Book that’s like Romans 8:28 I feel positive about this decision regardless of the unfortunate circumstances.

Yes, Praise God for Donald J. Trump!
I browse a facebook page for parents looking to find affordable ways for college. They are all saying they will not send their kids to college in Red States, others threaten to move. It’s a wonderful win win situation for those red states.
SCOTUS b st agreed with you.
NEBRASKA needs to pull its head out of its corn-fed football-obsessed ass, and do the same.
Unfortunately, the only thing “Cornhuskers” give a rat’s ass about - and will move mountains for - is effing football, and sports in general.
Everything else, they consider a distant second when it comes to real priorities. That’s why on 32% of the Nebraska’s Republican electorate bothers to vote in a primary (and they consider that miserable level of participation laudable). The apathy here is enough to make you puke.
SCOTUS agreed with you.
SWEET VICTORY FOR HUMAN LIFE!!!!
“Thank You President Trump for your Supreme Court nominees.”
I heartily agree!!!
“Reciprocity between states makes that hill a bit harder to climb.”
Now we can use that as a bludgeon against the left by demanding that a carry permit (or no permit at all) issued in one state is valid in every state.
Way to go, Missouri!
God bless all of you down there, including my nephew, a retired Colonel, Vietnam vet.
Didn’t say it couldn’t, wouldn’t or shouldn’t be done, only that it would be harder.
