Oz beat Dave McCormick by ~900 votes. I believe McCormick would have better chances in the general elections because a lot of people just don’t like Oz.
Maybe if Hannity had kept his nose out of it.
What did people know about Trump in 2016? Reality TV, of course. Real estate, failed casinos, tabloid scandals? Yep.
What would make them think he would have been electable against established politicians, let alone turn out to be a great president?
Yet he was elected, and few pre-election polls saw that coming.
But he campaigned relentlessly, and that certainly made a difference.

Then again, OZ is ahem “sub optimal” candidate. The guy who was a cinch to get the nomination was Sean Parnell but he had to withdraw due to a messy divorce and custody battle for his kids.
Trump endorsed Oz because Oz had one characteristic that matters above all else in Pennsylvania: He was a carpetbagger who had no connections to the inept, corrupt state GOP.

If he seems to be backing away from Trump it could be he’s going after the undecideds, Independents, and Democrats who are not with Fetterman and not exactly MAGA. I think it’s just a campaign strategy.
