Pennsylvania is one of the ‘least patriotic’ states in America: study

What, are there a bunch of redcoats in the Keystone State or something?

Pennsylvania is apparently one of the least patriotic states in the country, according to this one study.

Financial site WalletHub decided to find out what makes a patriot as the Fourth of July holiday nears. In order to do so, they first took a look at all 50 states across two key dimensions: “Military Engagement” and “Civic Engagement.”

From there they proceeded to grade each on sub-metrics such as “Veterans per 1,000 Civilian Adults” and “Share of Adults Who Voted in 2020 Presidential Election,” peppering in data from sources such as the U.S. Census Bureau the whole way through.

Based on all that, WalletHub found the following to be the top five most patriotic states in the nation (in ascending order): Oregon, North Dakota, Virginia, Montana, and Alaska.

“But where’s Pennsylvania?” You may be asking, as this is a Pennsylvania-based news site which typically writes stories on these types of rankings if the state breaks the top 20.

Alas, fair reader, this is a different type of study, for Pennsylvania didn’t break the top 10, or 20, or even the top 30.

Nope—Pennsylvania actually sits down below amongst the “least patriotic” states in the number 42 spot. This is only a smidge better than the bottom five least-patriotic states, which are Massachusetts, Florida, Rhode Island, New York, and Arkansas.

“There are many ways for an individual to demonstrate patriotism,” states Russ Crawford, a history professor at Ohio Northern University. “In the United States, individuals are free to be patriotic in whatever they want. That could be flying the national flag at their house, serving in the military, voting, and taking part in the political life of the nation, but also includes a multitude of other ways.

“If one chooses to show patriot by popping off on the 4th of July, that is fine. We have had times in our nation’s history when patriotism has been defied to require specific actions, but in contemporary America, we have the freedom to choose our own path.”

More power to him.
It’s dirty work, but necessary work.

Still lots of Trump 2020 signs where I live.

WalletHub is based in Washington DC, right in the swamp.

LOL.

17 hour day for $175.00....barely over $10/hour.

Starting wage at Rutters’ convenience stores is now $17/hr.

Someone has to sacrifice for the Republic!

“Share of Adults Who Voted in 2020 Presidential Election”

Well, Pennsylvania’s votes have been decided by vote fraud for at least 20 years so I wouldn’t expect high voter enthusiasm there.

That list is highly misleading. Military veterans tend to be located disproportionately in states that fall into three categories: (1) those without major metro areas, (2) those with large military bases, and (3) those with a major government presence that includes military contractors and Deep State lobbyists (hence the high ranking of Virginia).

I think there two states in Oregon. One is the city of Portland, the county it is in plus three or four surrounding counties, plus the resort-coastal county to the west of Portland. Unfortunately they make up 30-40% of the state population. Then you have a few Dim enclaves in the more rural counties. Together they handily get more than 50-60% of the state legislative seats. I think some eastern and southern counties of Oregon would separate if they could.

I don’t know where the survey takers made their survey or how, but from what we see of Portland and my own personal experience there (used to be there frequently a number of years ago and have a sister and her family who live there) I cannot understand where and how the patriotism of Oregon shows.

All these Marxist states should be expelled from the Union and patriotic states secede. The experiment is over. It didn’t work thanks to the corrupt politicians and Marxist government employees.

They define “patriotic” as sending cannon fodder to be blown away in the self-selected oligarchy Yankee empire’s foreign wars? Screw them. I am glad PA isn’t “patriotic”. None of the states should be, if this is how it’s defined.

I was just going to point out that Virginia is full of military vets who will be leaving the state as soon as (1) they retire or (2) their youngest graduates high school.

There are no Revolutionary War re-enactments in Arkansas. LOL. We had to get bonus points for those.

By most metrics Pennsylvania is solid ‘bottom third’ if not quarter. The commonwealth just isn’t what it used to be.

This is all based on some crappy, self-appointed leftist organization coming up with its own definition of what constitutes “patriotism”. It deserves to be ignored

Some of the original 13 states shouldn’t even be considered American anymore.

You mean there’s one or more that is still loyal to our Constitutional Republic? I’m trying to think of one that is!

Sorry to rain on your parade, but everyday that passes that once spectacular American city is becoming more and more like the cesspool on the Delaware, and for the same reason!
