President Biden on Sunday marked Juneteenth as “a day of profound weight and power.”

“It is a day of profound weight and power that reminds us of our extraordinary capacity to heal, hope, and emerge from our most painful moments into a better version of ourselves. Great nations don’t ignore their most painful moments,” Biden said in a statement. “They confront them to grow stronger. And that is what this great nation must continue to do.”

It celebrates the actions of the Republican President Abraham Lincoln, and his Emancipation Proclamation. June 19th marked the day in 1865 that the union soldiers entered Galveston, explained to the Black’s there that they were no longer slaves and that they were free.

I don’t care about Juneteenth, and neither does my wife, but shouldn’t the holiday be one of prayer and thanksgiving?

Biden either can’t read his notes, or he is a richard cranium.

Or both?

Merchants are looking to make a big buck, don’t shop tomorrow. Today’s Dad’s day, I fed hub a lower-grade steak, sweet potatoes, and green beans, his girls called. but not his son. Next month is the 4th, save your money for food. Not fireworks you can see free. Blue Angels were in town, traffic horrid, and people lined the streets for free, and brought water coolers and lunch or snacks. The big food supply is drying up, and you best stock food like beans, rice, and pasta, not in boxes, in 5-gallon buckets in their bags. Flour, and sugar in glass airtight jars. Canning supplies for your garden if you put one in. Than waste it on fireworks. BIDEN GREAT DEPRESSION 2, FDR’s lasted 10 yrs, and Biden’s will be longer due to his incompetence. And many don’t realize it. I live in a small rural, no-industry town, WE feel the lack of food and the 100+ degree heatwave, the same one that killed 2,000 head of cattle and spring-born claves, that can’t be used even for dog food. Milk is $4.59 a gallon as much as gas. Even on the small inland Navy base. There are items missing from the shelves.

I’ve been at work all day/haven’t watched the news, and tomorrow is a new “holiday” (not for me) at my place of employment. Am I correct that the Post Office, banks, and markets are closed for this tomorrow? If so, WTF!?!

“Great nations don’t ignore their most painful moments,” Biden said in a statement.

I thought Emancipation Day would be a happy moment. Of course it was painful for the democrat slave owners.

Really, Republicans should use the day to emphasize that it was the Republican party that freed the slaves, not the democrats.

Black kids have just about zero interest in any of the books about black history.

And I seriously doubt any blacks care about “Juneteeth” unless they get a holiday out of it.

“a day of profound weight and power.”

Nobody ever celebrated this farce of a day until the summer of love riots of 2020.

He does have a point. The government is using its profound weight (think Jerry Nadler) and power (think out of control FBI, among others) to elevate this otherwise unimportant day to a great height to pander to black voters. And to remind them that they owe all they have to the federal government and that they are to be willing slaves on the liberal plantation for their master forever.

Keep in mind that the ACTUAL name of the holiday that the Dems created is called “Juneteenth: National Independence Day”. A few Republicans originally protested and wanted it named “National Freedom Day” but “Independence” was insisted upon, the MAIN reason in my opinion is that the Dems want to ABOLISH the 4th of July as the TRUE Independence Day. There is now talk about creating the only DOUBLE-holiday out of Juneteenth (2 full-days off) so that they can then justify REMOVING the 4th of July as a federal holiday, in line with getting rid of the Declaration of Independence and, ultimate, the Constitution. Look for most news commies to start the shift if we somehow lose the election this year.

I have always imagined the slave masters calling after the newly freed slaves as they walked off the plantation, “The Republicans want you to be homeless and unemployed.”

And the Commucrats are still telling blacks the same thing today.

Just a note as Juneteenth draws to a close. Juneteenth was brought about by young white men from places like Indiana, Michigan, Maine, Rhode Island...... It might have been proper if a representative of The Congressional Black Caucus had gone to Arlington and quietly laid a wreath on the grave of a representative Union soldier as a recognition of the sacrifice of all those who wore the Blue and of all those families who faced the tragedy of a dinner table with a Vacant Chair.
