Trump calls Pence a 'human conveyor belt' who 'didn't have courage to act' and says Democrats want to execute babies AFTER birth in speech attacking Biden, the January 6 committee and schools that let 'kindergartners pick their own gender'

Former President Donald Trump renewed his attacks on his former vice president on Friday, dismissing Mike Pence as a 'human conveyor belt' for failing to reject what he said were fraudulent votes in the 2020 election.

It came at the end of a week that revealed more evidence of the way he and his allies tried and failed to persuade Pence to overturn the result.

The House January 6 committee released testimony of a White House official saying that Trump called Pence a 'wimp.'

If the f***ing DOJ and other fed officials had at least conducted a credible investigation of the reports of fraud, we could’ve avoided a lot of this. What frustrated Trump was the summary dismissal of every report of cheating.

I don’t think he had the legal authority to do so.

“The House January 6 committee released testimony of a White House official saying that Trump called Pence a ‘wimp.’”

In other words, fake perjury testimony.

Didn’t happen.

Will Kamala Harris have such a power in 2025?

Suppose Trump runs and appears to win, but to get to 270, he needs Texas’s electoral votes. Some Democrats complain of fraud (various violations of state and federal law) in the Texas vote. Texas officials nevertheless approve the vote for Trump. Courts all reject the Democrats’ challenges. Individual Texas legislators cry fraud, but neither chamber of the legislature acts.

Will VP Harris, presiding over the count on January 6, 2025, have the authority to reject the electoral votes from Texas?

I say she will not.

I have other reasons for disliking Mike Pence. On this point, however, he’s innocent. The fault is with the Republican state legislators and election officials who actually had the authority to do something, but didn’t act.

The first time I heard the words “Elon Musk” I thought it was some kind of men’s aftershave or something like that.

One state turned in a slate of competing electors. I’ve forgotten which state, but one did.

I never DID get an explanation as to why Pence did not decertify AT LEAST the state ofg Pennsylvania.

For the same reason why he didn't decertify any other state. He didn't have the authority to do so under the law or the Constitution.

He had the power to NOT certify.

I don’t he could legally decertify anything, but that does not mean that he had to certify the election in the first place. At the least he could have just chosen not to certify the election and forced the courts to figure it out.

You said that you don't think Pence could decertify anything and then suggest he decertify the entire election. Which is it?

He had the power to NOT certify.

The vice president doesn't certify the electoral college votes. Congress does. They have the power to refuse any voted submitted by any state through a majority vote of both houses.

If you are from Indiana, you remember that in 2016, Pence was a Cruz supporter. Why Trump picked him for VP, I don’t know. Pence was weak sauce as Indiana Governor. The guy talked big on his convictions, but was too weak to stand for them. He was rolled by the left even then.

His wife is a bossy cow who wears the trousers. The one who seems to be the most ambitious.

Even then in 2016, who was it that recommended Pence to Trump and why knowing full well that Pence was a Cruz guy?

It’s actually a very simple explanation. Pence had no authority to “decertify” anything.
