PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — A brutal and unprovoked attack was caught on camera. Three women were walking along an East Passyunk sidewalk minding their own business when a man comes alongside and begins to punch them. The brutal assault happened Wednesday night on the 1200 block of Morris Street and has left the neighborhood on edge.
The attacker didn’t take a thing from his victims, casually walking off when it was over. We do want to warn you that this video is difficult to watch.
“I heard screaming,” a neighbor said.
Three women were walking down the 1200 block of Morris Street Wednesday night shortly before 11:30 p.m. when an unknown man came up from behind and, out of nowhere, struck one of them in the face with such force she fell to the ground. As her friend tries to step in, he punches her in the head and knocked her against a parked car, where he goes in for another hit. When the third woman tries to stop him, he pins her against a wall and starts swinging until she stumbles backward onto the sidewalk.
“They were screaming so loud,” a neighbor said. “They were screaming for their lives.”
Neighbors who heard and saw the attack are still reeling from it all.
“It was just ridiculous the way he was beating that young lady. And the other two ladies, they were helpless,” a neighbor said. “They tried their best. Two of them jumped on him and he threw them to the ground.”

I’ve been in Philly this week. Yesterday I walked from 30th Street Station to Independence Mall on 6th along Market Street. I hadn’t been to Philly for a couple of years and I wanted to see how it’s been faring.
What a mess.
Center City has become a homeless-ridden, open drug market, gang infested, filthy sewer. Philly has always had big city problems, but this is by far the worse I’ve seen it here. When I passed by the DA’s office building, the sign on the door said it would be closed for Juneteenth. Nice to see where his priorities are…

Do you think these sporadic racial attacks are happening randomly? Or could someone be paying these people to do this? Or is satan just having his field day? The phenomenon is startling.

Two things: Note that the women didn’t bail on each other, tried to protect one another from the perp. God bless those ladies for that!
And if I were the fuzz, I’d want to have a little chat with the guy who walks past shortly after the perp walks off. That second guy didn’t try to help the women and I’m wondering if he was with the perp...
I think it just the result of the breakdown of societal order. Years ago, in the small rural town I grew up in they were starting to have a problem with kids congregating downtown and causing trouble. Mom told me they wouldn’t listen to the police like my friends, and I used to do years before. I told her then that civilization was a thin veneer and when it cracked all hell would break loose. I there were not enough police to maintain order if people didn’t care to follow the rules of a polite society. That’s where we are. All these people saw what happened in 2020 when BLM/Antifa were allowed to riot and burn whole cities with no repercussions. And they’ve listened while politicians and the media have harped non-stop on the White supremacists, all Whites are racist crap. Actions have consequences. The question is how long before the backlash starts? It won’t be pretty.

I would argue apathy got then slaughtered. There is always someone wanting to go nuts in this world, but if you sit back and let them instead of fighting then you might be the one they go nuts on.
being in a group didn’t stop it, but might have saved their lives. If one of them had been alone, they might be dead now or worse.
The legal fiction is that it is not, unless the women were to be charged for inciting the physical attacker. As a [practical] matter of law, it is not possible for a black person to perpetrate a racially motivated crime. No reasonable prosecutor would dare to bring that case.
The media will turn the attacker into a saint
