UPDATE!!!
Jim’s doctor called Chris and asked if he would like to have the VA’s palliative “quality of life” people to contact him to discuss aggressiveness of treatment, home nursing assistance, etc.
Doctor also said that Jim is experiencing some delirium. but she was able to get him back in focus.
Chris told her yes so now he is just waiting to hear from them.
Thank you for the update Amy. I hope the arrangements with the VA can move forward as soon as possible. Prayers up!!
not good
Thank you for the update.
Sounds like progress is being made.

Hang in there, Jim!
PS: Chris and John agree that the home nursing assistance is a good idea. He is also going to ask about an air mattress hospital bed.
Thank you for the update.
Jesus, watch over our dear Jim.
O LORD, Holy Father, by whose loving-kindness our souls and bodies are renewed; Mercifully look upon this thy servant, that, every cause of sickness being removed, he may be restored to soundness of health; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Thank you so much for the update, Amy. Prayers continue, of course.
" While hospice is designed to meet the needs of patients at the end-of-life, palliative care may be given at any time during an illness or injury, from the point of diagnosis onwards."
Keep those prayers coming, Warriors. He needs us more than ever!
Dear Father, hold Jim close in your powerful arms
and give him the strength he needs to heal.
Oh man, God be with you all.
I’m so glad that Chris and the family is open and receptive to these treatment options. I kneel in prayer with them asking the good LORD to heal our good friend Jim.
Thank you again.
Had palliative with my mom and stepfather. Very helpful. Not full hospice. Help with meds, treatment, bathing, and physio.
Delirium is common in older adults in a different setting where they are constantly awakened for vitals/meds and can’t determine night or day. Just went through it with Mom during a hospital stay.
IMHO....he would do so much better at home with healing and comfort...and around loved ones.
God bless. Thanks for the update. Will continue praying!!!
Delirium can be caused by a UTI and those are quite common in people in wheel chairs. I sincerely hope they’re checking that. I have zero confidence in main stream medicine. They are equal in effectively to main stream media.
Hope he gets the best care through the VA. He deserves it.
Thanks Amy
I believe sepsis can cause delirium. If that’s what’s causing it, I would expect it to clear up soon with the use of antibiotics. Prayers for a quick recovery.
Continuing prayers for Jim, family, and Jim’s care team!
“Jim is experiencing some delirium. but [the doctor] was able to get him back in focus.”
Please tell Chris to tell Jim that we miss him, we need him and we love him.
And that if he’s not well soon, we all agreed that Laz and Hum’ Gunner should run the show.
