According to a criminal complaint, three sex assault charges have been filed against a former Two Rivers High School teacher who admitted to having sex with a pupil.
Rebecca Kilps has been charged with three counts of felony sexual assault on a student by school personnel.
A school social worker phoned a detective on May 23 after receiving information regarding a pupil having a relationship with a teacher.
The detective received a call on May 24 from Rebecca Kilps’ husband, who said he had suspicions and had checked his wife’s phone while she was sleeping. He discovered texts in which Rebecca and the victim were “talking about a future together and stating they love each other.” He went up to her and challenged her. She stated that it was a student and that they had been friends before saying “I love you” and “talking sexually.”
The 17-year-old victim told the investigator that things had “gone too far” and that things had “gone terrible.” He described how he began taking her Freshman Spanish class and continued to do so over the years. He began hanging out in her classroom after school during his junior year. They began exchanging private messages. Things “escalated” in March, he added, and “we talked more and said things we shouldn’t have.”
The victim said they had sex twice at Kilps’ home.

Only down in Wokeville. A 17 year-old young man is old enough to make choices and take responsibility for them. Unless he was mentally impaired and there’s no indication of that.
Good for the husband turning his wife in. He will get a great deal in the upcoming divorce proceedings.
She could be a nymphomaniac. Husband couldn’t get rid of her for adultery only. Wanted a charge that would stick. He obviously didn’t want to get divorced and have to pay any alimony. The spouse being a sex offender or molester is more often seen in wife vs. husband divorce cases where husband is accused of the crime.

Wrong. Teen boys can get screwed up by what they don’t know. Indeed imagine a horny straight boy with the coach he looks up to. It’s all wrong. Every adult should leave kids alone. No minor should be messed with unless the of age person is within 2 years of age and a peer, not an authority.
If she was single, that’s one thing.
But if she’s married, and especially if she has kids. A 17 year-old should know better.
Teachers, regardless of sex or age, should keep their hands and other body part off of students, regardless of sex or age.

In my opinion what often happens is the teacher (male or female) is unused to the position of power and finds that they can attract and hold the attention of a 15 to 19 year old that was not someone they could have attained when they were a student not that long ago. The ability is seductive and they can’t turn it loose until it reaches a point it destroys them. Saw it happen to a young man. — he killed himself as the truth was coming out.
