Actor Jon Voight reacted to the deadly Uvalde, Texas, school shooting by suggesting that Americans should undergo “proper testing” for gun ownership.
On May 28, 2022, four days after the heinous attack on Uvalde’s Robb Elementary School, Voight posted a video to Twitter and said:
It’s not about left right, guns no guns, this about brains that are disfunctioning, this is mental. This is not about healthy human beings serving the country with arms to bear or even the right of this constitution for bearing arms. It is a right to use arms with proper purpose to defend one’s safety, we must not allow mental illness to take away our right to bear arms.
Voight then spoke of those killed by the gunman, saying “These innocent souls…are children of God. I must remind us all that God will take home these angels.”
The Oscar-winner then posted a second video, in which he said, “We must identify every individual for their credentials for their mental capacity to bear arms. There should be proper qualifications for gun ownership, and proper testing. One should only own a gun if they’re qualified and schooled.”

People, don’t “OVERREACT” to this tragedy.
Statistically, its not something you should even worry about happening to your child.
Not to say that RATIONAL steps can’t be taken to protect children from ALL dangers. (Like pedophile teachers and coaches).
Like the famous phrase “I rob banks because that’s where the money is”, Pedophiles get jobs in education because that’s where the children are.
You should worry MORE about trannies in your kids bathrooms, swimming pools, and locker rooms than active shooters in the classrooms. It is far more likely that you have a child predator in the gym or classroom.
It is currently covered in law. Unless a person is adjudicated an incompetent, by a court proceeding, a person’s mental status is moot.

I’ve grown up with hunting riffles in the house all my life. We kids knew not to touch.
Hub taught me in our handgun Permit Class, he had been shooting .22 single shot rifle since he was putting meat on the supper table at 12. The Instructor was a retired police officer had no objection. Plus he had made Marksman all 4 yrs from basic training to seperation.
They all get it wrong. There is enough evidence this guy creeped everyone out.
And enough dumb errors by parents, police, and Border Patrol. A hardened school had a dumb teacher, dumb securuty guard. Schumer. Plain commonsence was missing.

To me a key problem is that children are raised with NO respect for anyone’s life but their own. Any attempt to teach “Right and Wrong” are condemned by the Leftists & Progressives, where they believe in “if it feels good, do it.” Thus teenagers getting a gun and shooting others is being encouraged by those who want to destroy Western Society based upon personal responsibility, respect for others, and a Judeo-Christian faith.
