The suspected gunman who slaughtered 19 students and two teachers Tuesday at a Texas elementary school fired shots outside the school for 12 minutes before entering, an official said.
Eighteen-year-old Salvador Ramos spent approximately 12 minutes outside of Robb Elementary School firing shots before he walked into the school and barricaded himself in a classroom, Regional Director for the Texas Department of Public Safety, Victor Escalon, said Thursday, according to The Wall Street Journal (WSJ).
Escalon was unable to provide any answers Thursday as to why no one stopped Ramos from entering the school, the WSJ reported.

State authorities, including the Texas Rangers, are investigating the Uvalde Police Department amid concerns and questions that officers did not respond quickly enough. Officers were present throughout the attack, with many standing in the parking lot during the 30-60 minute period in which Ramos opened fire. Authorities did not breach the classroom until a staff member gave them a key to unlock the door, the Associated Press (AP) reported.

Hmmmmmmm.........Maybe he accompanied the grandma once or twice.. and noted the code?
The “see you next tuesday” was shooting outside the school 10 minutes before going in? And it didn’t occur to anyone to close and lock the doors? Most workplaces I was ever at when I’ve had to work in an office had locked doors and access keys to keep the bums out? Why can’t we at least do that at schools instead of letting any deranged bum or retard shuffle in the door at will?
” Authorities did not breach the classroom until a staff member gave them a key to unlock the door,”
Yea, they were waiting for a key while children died.
Yeah or she gave it to him to visit her for lunch or money not imagining what could happen
But, lets be glad. At least the police made it home that night. /s
When seconds count, the police are minutes away.
Or sometimes standing right outside, afraid to do their damn jobs.
THIS!
When you need a cop now, they are only 10 minutes away.
Not to disparage cops, but all government, police included, like to portray themselves as the only qualified subject matter experts able to handle whatever crisis situation may arise.
Truth is, the number of real ‘experts’ is very few. You’re lucky if you happen to draw one. Otherwise you get the guy who just finished the academy a month ago, or the guy who has been hiding behind his desk playing video games or watching porn on his government laptop.
There were parents who wanted, had every right, to retrieve their kids here, and they were held up, cuffed, tased, etc while no one was addressing the threat inside.
Men, and women if they choose, need to arm up, train up, and be prepared to address threats on their own. We can no longer rely on government to to this, and we really never should have.
Whomever it was who could have easily locked that school down in that 12 minute time window, it's about to suck, very much, to be them.
“Almost like they were paid off to not respond?”
Uvalde is a small rural town of about 15,000. The police may have had kids in that school.
Only possible explanation for 40 minute delay: looks like an cop standown order from feds above or under orders from govt gun control advocates to let opportune setup/excuse run its course for gun control benefit... Occam`s razor== gun control benefit standown.. even my cat can see thru this one... She never lets a mouse escape alive for less than 10 seconds after seeing the mouse, even if she has to scratch open the wall to pieces. we aint stupid y`know...
Yes it’s completely inexcusable.
An horrific tragedy that could have been easily averted.
In this day and age, completely inexcusable.
An armed guard. Broward Coward notwithstanding.
“I do not wonder because the teachers, principals, and administrators are all members of the teachers union.”
As a retired teacher, who never was a member of a teachers’ union, I can understand your animosity towards the teachers’ unions, but really, do you think that anyone in that school as the kids were getting slaughtered, was thinking, “I’m a union member, he won’t hurt me.”
There were some screwups here to be sure. Don’t know if we’ll ever know or be told how things went down. The murderer was able to get into one classroom (one far too many) but somehow the teachers (union or not) were able to protect their kids from him.
The locked door was a classroom door I think.
Could be the reason granny got shot.
Were the DC police on hand to open the doors and wave him in? No sarcasm intended just strong derision for the dc murder and the 6th scam.
The more info that comes out, tailored to logical, common sense, makes this not add up at all. I hate feeling this way for our country (that I was willing to die protecting). It seems this played out as planned. Just today, I was chatting with my sis about something she never heard of...MKUltra. I hope and pray to be off cue, but we shall see if more of this crap unfolds across the nation.
Dont cops still carry a shotgun in the trunk, they couldn’t blow the lock?
If this had happened in 1966 the first thing that would have happened would have been citizens getting their .22s out of their pickups and taking care of business like they did when Charles Whitman had the high ground on them.
I do NOT believe this!! I just heard tonite that he fired at 2 people at the Funeral Home next door!!!
