To clarify, if he’s outside shooting the place up for 12 minutes, that’s 12 minutes he ought to be a target. Unfortunately no one carries a .22 in their truck, or their Prius, any more.

This happens too regularly for my liking. Matter of fact I can recall more shootings where the cops didn’t react promptly than when they did.
Now before someone says “well you think you are the tough guy?”. See that’s just it I choose NOT to be a deputy sheriff like Scott Peterson who made a cool 137,000 a year at Broward county BTW. That is part of the deal, you take on the hazards of the job when you accept it.
I like to think I would accept the responsibility I agreed to…now would I? Who knows?

Some police did have their children in that school and went in and got them out according to reports.

No but I bet there are plenty of union teachers around the country especially in states that now allow teachers to be trained to conceal carry in the classroom, that said my union is against guns I won't be taking any training to protect myself or the children with a gun.

Happily I didn’t have to join a union to get my teaching job. But I know people who left the teaching profession because they crossed their union and the union made working in the school impossible for them. None of the colleagues would even speak to them.
I notice glass entrance doors at many schools and there sealed tight ie can’t even open windows to escape. Sitting ducks!
Cops saved their own kids while their buddies taser and handcuffed moms who wanted to do the same.
There’s video of one officer surfing Instagram waiting for help to arrive. Forty officers were there doing nothing. They put up police tape.
By the end 140 LEOs were present.
Likely many were saved as the gunman dropped a bag at the location of his truck crash that contained 4-5 more filled magazines.

Ramos did not have on body armor.
All the kids killed were in one classroom. One child was there shot five times and bleeding for an hour before the gunman was killed. She underwent surgery and is expected to survive.
If she was a janitor she would have the master key to 99% of the school.
Do you see a connection between this and the NRA meeting on Friday?

When seconds count, the cops are just a half hour away.
Wouldn’t you think with the gunman shooting outside for 12 min that some responsible person would see that doors are locked. No critical thinking by those school employees.....All classrooms should lock from the inside and that could possibly help in this kind of situation.
