On Thursday Hillary Clinton tweeted a deceptive gun violence chart and added text suggesting, “It’s the Guns” causing crimes.
The chart, published by VOX, is from Gun Policy. It shows the U.S. vs. its “peers,” a category which appears to consist of “high income” countries.
Limiting the comparison of the U.S. and other countries on the basis of this one category allows gun control proponents to sidestep the opportunity to contrast the U.S. and its next-door neighbor, Mexico. (On August 17, 2016, Breitbart News reported that although Mexico had “restrictive” gun control — including comprehensive background checks — it still had a homicide rate over five times higher than the rate in the U.S.)

1. Always beware of someone who shows you a graph without showing the origin (x,y 0,0), the full definition of the axes, and an attribution to the source of the data.
2. Transnational comparisons are highly suspicious in general, but in this example, I would ask - how does Switzerland or Japan compare to the United States? And the answer is - this is a highly suspect comparison because neither Switzerland or Japan has a hyper violent urban minority segment of the population. Take that out of the gun violence statistics - and I am sure that the US is no longer an outlier.

But the cartels have every kind of weapon imaginable. And Mexico does nothing about because if they confront the cartels, they will end up found inside of a 55 gallon drum burned up and beheaded.

How about the upcoming NRA convention? I went to one and there were lots of guns on display and LOTS of men and women carrying. Felt safe as could be there. Dangerous part was walking out of the convention center to my truck in downtown Houston.
