Shocking new video has emerged showing Texas cops restraining parents as they tried to rescue their kids on Tuesday after a gunman unleashed terror inside the elementary school, as questions grow over why it took so long to get to the shooter after the first 911 call.
Salvador Ramos, 18, arrived at the school in Uvalde at 11.30am, crashing his car into a ditch.
A school resource officer was at the scene but he failed to stop him from making his way inside.
Two other cops also rushed to the school at that time - Ramos had just shot his grandmother in the face at their home less than five miles away. She survived and called the police.
When they arrived, Ramos is said to have shot at them then ran into the school, where he barricaded himself in the fourth grade classroom and shot 19 kids and two teachers dead.
It took another 90 minutes from that point for police to declare the shooting over.
Now, sources say police were struggling to get into the classroom and needed a key to open the door.
Eventually, a border patrol agent was able to get inside and the shooting was declared over at 1.06pm.
But it questions remain over why it took police so long to get into the classroom where the kids were trapped with the gunman.
One child told KENS 5 that he was able to hide under a desk, but that a girl who yelled out 'help' when police arrived was executed.

They never need a key to execute a no-knock warrant...
As was quoted, the parents wanted to all rush in. Frankly, it was a better idea than what the police did, n’est pas?
I have not seen any video, so I don’t have an opinion on that.
I am stunned at the hatred of police and all the Monday morning quarterbacking done on this thread, about what police should have done. We don’t know what their orders or instructions were. I want to learn more facts about all of this. We do know that a shooter situation is a fluid situation, subject to ever changing circumstances. I don’t have enough knowledge of law enforcement procedures to say they obviously were cowards, they did this wrong, they did that wrong, etc.
I don’t know enough to have an opinion. Those of you with strong opinions, I find stunning, because it’s all negative against police.
But I admit I don’t know the facts of the response and what should have happened, if somehow police didn’t act according to proper procedures or any of that. I don’t have hatred against police as many here seem to have. I have no basis for that hatred.
Amen.
This is a discussion forum and people discuss what is presented. That’s why a link is provided. Other sources are reporting what the Daily Mail is here, and eyewitness testimony supports it.
Maybeb you should evaluate what is presented rather than toss out claims based on your opinion that are supported by nothing.
Yesterday a FReeper vehemently defended the police for doing nothing because they “were following procedures”. Tell that to the parent of a dead child.
And they know how? Remember this wasn’t Chicago, this is an extremely small town and the cops had kids in there or knew kids in there. What was the parent going to do when they encountered bloody small bodies that were unrecognizable? How safe would those parents have been or what if they kept the cops from getting kids out?
Do you think it took that monster 90 minutes to kill those kids? You wanted the cops to go in guns blazing? How many other children would have been killed? I’m sick of this blame the cops. Like I said it’s as disgusting as Beto blaming guns.
Maybe watch the video before you speak. It’s not hatred for police. It’s a conclusion of the LE’s involved based on sane observation.
No it was not, how many parents and other kids would have been killed? Were the parents wearing signs that said Hey don’t shoot me I’m just looking for my kid?
“What if the parent had a gun and wanted to try to save his child?”
I have no perspective about what the actual situation was. Context is everything in such incidents.
Yes, in my local community, that WOULD have been allowed if the police knew you.
But, the delay for law enforcement here, would have been much longer. It would have come from the Sheriff’s office (At county seat) and that is 10 miles away. BUT, the new Sheriff, lives 2 blocks from our school.
Big Bob, discussion is one thing….
…but taking hearsay and running with it is quite another!
A key? The shooter had no problem getting in
If the LEO isnt man enough to risk his life, take off the best and gun and hand it to someone who is.
Federal agents there retraining parents to push NWO gun control on the rest of us.
From my experience, police tape is placed around a crime scene long after the incident is over. I haven’t watched any of these videos, but do they clearly show people being restrained while the shooter was still alive?
Nope. Videos don’t lie. The police are not here to protect you. Their primary purpose is to maintain order and investigate. They will not protect you.
Thank you! A voice of reason.
I too am surprised at the rampant hatred here at FR
A veritable lynch mob toward the police.
In a local interview the spokesman said LEOs went inside and got their own kids out.
But at least one sheriff officer had a child killed.
FBI is busy with political warfare.
“If the LEO isnt man enough to risk his life, take off the best and gun and hand it to someone who is.“
Hear, hear!
The tone of the article suggests that the killer was roaming the building at will for an indefinite length of time, killing left and right, while the cops huddled outside. That doesn’t seem accurate — it seems more like that he was contained to the room he took over initially, and the police had the rest of the building.
