WATCH as seniors suggest it's time they were gone 'Old people live too long…'

Human life suddenly became less valuable when a "constitutional right" to abortion was created by the U.S. Supreme Court in 1973.

Part of the worry from critics was that that very standard would be applied to seniors, too.

In Colorado. which was a leader in the race to turn abortion into a national industry, the move to get rid of seniors also surged at that time.

In fact, it was Colorado's governor, Dick Lamm, who shortly later proclaimed to senior citizens, "We've got a duty to die and get out of the way…"

Now a report from The DCPatriot is pointing out how the international community is pushing that very message of self-destruction.

The report quotes Christine Lagarde, chief of the European Central Bank, who appeared with the statement, "Old people live too long and this is a risk for the global economy."

I have no problem with people who want to off themselves - at whatever age.

Dick Lamm just died last year at 86. He certainly took his time getting out of the way.

I am 66. I just hope I live long enough to see what Rahm Emanuel’s brother does when he hits 75.

I am retired.

My attitude—I pulled the cart for fifty years, time to ride on it.

I’m 66 and work as an assistant supervisor running a small crew of people keeping an ER clean and it’s no easy job.

Most of the kids I work with are pretty much useless.

They’re addicted to staring into smart phones, won’t do anything unless told two or three times and it’s usually half ass at that although I will say I have two young people, one young girl (a Polish kid) and a young kid in his early 20’s who’s a good worker.

But when something needs to be done and fast to get a patient room ready either my bosses or the head nurses come to me and it’s “Can you get this for me now,? “Can you get this room ready stat?’’

Makes me hope I never have to wait on some slacker kid getting a room clean for me or my wife if ever we’re hospitalized. There are good young people who work hard but there’s even more for whom work is something they seem allergic to.

That is so true. And, interestingly, so many among the young have zero work ethic and many companiies are opting for seniors to get work done in their companies.

Don’t be a Dick!

I paid my full taxes again this year, I’m 80. How many young people have paid my amount of taxes, how many have paid off their student loan like I did. I’m tired of carrying the “yutes”.

I know a construction manager that was all set to retire but was asked by his company to finish up a big project. He had already done this twice before (wanting to retire, but...).

He said “Yeah, the project manager is 82 years old. The best in the business - but I figured he needs to enjoy some retirement time more than I do!” (My friend is 69 - and many say HE is the best in the business.)

I have a family member still working at his company at 73 - even though they have required retirement they rehired him as a contractor and his work never skipped a beat.....he has no plans to retire.

As well he shouldn’t.
Retirement is over-rated, plus he’ll probably run circles around the Gen Xers who think they can match his skills.

He’s fortunate to have an amazing mind....Einstein type....and like most people with brilliant minds they can talk your ear off because they enjoy hearing themselves speak. Therefore you always learn something valuable when they do.

He complains all the time about Gen Xers and others who are not focused on their work and do the least amount necessary.....since he’s always had a home office much of his work when off the road is dependent on communication with the main office as well as clients.....so it can be frustrating for him when people drop the ball.
