Kremlin calls Finland's NATO move a threat to Russia

The Kremlin on Thursday said Finland’s push to join NATO is a direct threat to Russia as well as the stability of the European continent and vowed to respond accordingly.

"Finland’s entry into NATO will become a threat to Russia," Dmitry Peskov, press secretary to Russian President Vladimir Putin, told Russian media outlets."The next expansion of NATO does not make our continent more stable and secure."

"Of course, all this will become elements for a special analysis and development of the necessary measures in order to balance the situation and ensure our security," he added.

The comments came after Finnish leaders on Thursday urged their country’s officials to initiate the NATO application process "without delay" and argued the backing of the 30-member alliance was vital to Helsinki’s security.

Finland, a traditionally neutral nation in Northern Europe that shares a border with Russia, began to look to the military alliance along with neighboring Sweden after Russia invaded Ukraine in late February.

We don’t need Nato. If the propaganda of Ukraine beating Russia with Turkish drones is too believed we should just take our stuff and protect our own country back here. Keep 100,000 Americans from being poisoned by Chinese fentanyl by protecting our border. We can’t afford this anymore. Besides the fact Western Europe no longer represents freedom. I’d say that our government included is no better then Putin’s government. Political prisoners , we have a political police at the DoJ and we have total corruption everywhere in federal and state government. We are circling the drain and it’s time to stop the military industrial complex.

Rat Party Headquarters should remember two things: 1) it was their guy,Osama Obama, who promised Vlad “flexibility” back in 2011...and 2) Vlad has only invaded his smaller, weaker neighbors during Rat Party administrations...not under DJT!

Everything seems preordained. Hopefully, the ultimate (nuclear) disaster will be averted.

If the FSB (former KGB) had done a true analysis....they would have listed 100-odd reasons NOT to conduct the ‘special operation’, and getting Sweden/Finland worried over military actions would have been on the top 10 reasons not to conduct this operation.

But I don’t think Putin would listen to this logic. Legacy-building impaired his rational side.

When you invade your neighbor the others start to worry.

And they start to ally with people they think might be able to keep you from crossing their border.

Is Russia doing this on purpose?

It is.

The encirclement of the trifle that is Russia increases

Russia is not capable of resisting a determined NATO effort to capture the Russian oil

Well, Finland and Sweden will find a nice selection of Intermediate Range nukes pointed at them. Hope they enjoy it!

Maybe Russia shouldn’t have threatened it’s neighbors to a point where they feel it necessary to seek additional security against future Russian hostility...

Crazy how that works...

It is interesting how the Ukraine pushers and neocons don’t seem bothered, ONE BIT, about what’s going on the US, with our Ministry of Truth, the Jan 6th Political Prisoners, moms going to school board meetings, etc. Not to mention the economy.

Nope, they just want WW3.

Putin surrounded himself with yes men. He has only himself to blame. Smart leaders want to hear contrary opinions to help them avoid bubble mode and blind spots.

Idiot neocon globalists corruptocrats have engineered a plant to break the world. You are just their cannon fodder.

I ain’t a fan of Putin, but Russia was Russia’s circus until NATO marched its tanks up to Putin’s front porch as Pat Buchanan warned us - and a whole lot of other folks as well [Brzenski, Kissinger, Mersheimer....]
