Former President Donald Trump continues to maintain that Georgia Republican Senate candidate Herschel Walker will be hurt by Gov. Brian Kemp's presence on the ballot if the state executive captures the GOP nomination later this month, per The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
In a tele-rally that was held on behalf of former Sen. David Perdue earlier this week, Trump insisted that Kemp would be a drag on Republicans in their effort to restore GOP dominance in a state that saw major Democratic gains in 2020.

He’s right, some people won’t bother if the scoundrel Kemp is on the ballot.
That would hurt Walker.
Agree.
It doesn’t have to be taken out of context to recognize that Kemps, at the very least, was willing to overlook any electoral irregularities.
I think that is what Trump is alluding at, Kemp being an enabler.
You wish. Herschel Walker would make a good Senator. Trump needs to separate these issues. Stop the madness.
The polls are saying that Herschel Walker is up by five or more. If Herschel was a bit of a gambler he might want to campaign with Purdue. Or mention Perdue’s name somewhere during his stump speech.
Yeah, he’s doing well. In an honest system, he’d be almost certainly a shoe-in, but he’s running in Georgie.
Good point, but I still don't see why. If Kemp doesn't deserve the vote (and he doesn't) - then don't vote for him, but still vote for the Senator position (and the Secretary of State, Representatives, etc).
In Georgia, all Walker has to do is show up.
He’s one of the most popular persons to ever live in Georgia.
The left media always hypes or inflates their side. If the parties were reversed, they would be calling Warnock a phony senator and Walker a shoo in. This is Business Insider, a cesspool publication.
Walker is a Heisman Trophy winner and national champion in a state that pays maximum attention to football. He is a popular gentleman and a winner in all areas, which makes the left write garbage articles like this.
I would show up and vote for everyone else, but some people just won’t bother at all if the nominee is the Chief Thief.
“He’s one of the most popular persons to ever live in Georgia.”
And deservedly so, he’s a class act.
I see the idiots are out in full force: ‘lets just Hand the election to Stacie fat pig Abrams’. You ere the brain trusts sat sout the Senate elections in 2021. Stellar thinking! Lets just elect Democrats & then stand around and complain after 🙄
If the people of GA want to reelect Kemp, then they deserve to have 2024 stolen.
I will vote for Trump . But I think he’s mistaken in getting involved in GA politics at this stage.
Agreed.
“Walker is a Heisman Trophy winner and national champion in a state that pays maximum attention to football. He is a popular gentleman and a winner in all areas, which makes the left write garbage articles like this.”
Sounds pretty much exactly like what some were saying here in PA in 2006 when “popular gentleman” football hero Lynn Swann was running for Governor. That didn’t end well, and Swann’s futile bid occurred back when Democrats had to commit vote fraud more discreetly than the in-your-face, whatcha-gonna-do-about-it-honky? style they perfected — particularly in and around Atlanta — in 2020.
“In Georgia, all Walker has to do is show up.
He’s one of the most popular persons to ever live in Georgia.”
It’s the first time I’ve written a check solely to a person’s first name!
“Herschel Walker would make a good Senator. Trump needs to separate these issues. Stop the madness.”
Atta boy Trump, discourage Republican voters.
“I will vote for Trump . But I think he’s mistaken in getting involved in GA politics at this stage.”
Amen. His remarks could discourage Republican voters.
