First lady Jill Biden arrived in Romania on Friday to start her four-day trip across Eastern Europe, which will include a visit with Ukrainian refugees amid Russia’s war in Ukraine.

The first lady’s plane touched down at Mihail Kogalniceanu International Airport in southeastern Romania around 5:02 p.m. local time. She was greeted by military officials before going to Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base, where she served food to U.S. troops, according to reporters traveling with the first lady.

In his farewell address, Washington told us to avoid foreign entanglements. So I think he’d be amazed to find that we have troops here, there, and everywhere in the world.

I’m not saying that we shouldn’t be doing these deployments. I’m just suggesting that Washington would have been amazed by it.

“In his farewell address, Washington told us to avoid foreign entanglements.”

In Washington’s time that approach made some sense yet Washington himself understood the importance of allies in time of war. He had no hesitation when he leveraged the French Navy to outmaneuver the British and force a satisfactory end to our Revolutionary War.

When the Civil War came along the isolationist philosophy held strong and the Europeans were free to support the Confederacy because they were not ‘entangled’ with the USA.

See, some of these ‘foreign entanglements’ serve to keep our friends close.

And some serve to keep our potential enemies closer.

Reminder - that was from around Jan 2021, in DC. Remember the National Guard had to be cooped up sleeping in freezing DC garages, and the jill-ster brought them cookies in “thanks”.

Excessive partiality for one foreign nation and excessive dislike of another cause those whom they actuate to see danger only on one side, and serve to veil and even second the arts of influence on the other. Real patriots who may resist the intrigues of the favorite are liable to become suspected and odious, while its tools and dupes usurp the applause and confidence of the people, to surrender their interests. G Washington

Never more true than it is today.

You need not look further than Russia for an example of a country that has virtually isolated itself with neither friend nor ally.

Look how well it’s working for them before you tell me to have America follow suit.

We are less than 5% of the world population, our government is totally bankrupt morally and financially, we still do most of the heavy lifting around the world, defend many countries that spend very little on self defense, and yet most of the world looks to us to pull their nuts out of the fire whenever they have a crisis.

Now we have an insane democrat regime in Washingtonton DC that seemingly wants to destroy our own country while they push Russia to the brink of a nuclear conflict.

When this libtard built house of cards comes tumbling down that will really be the start of a New World Order and it will not be what the democrats and other globalists are dreaming of.

I don’t presume to offer up the lives of other peoples children to some perceived reputation america has on the global stage.

I would only do that if I felt my country is directly threatened.

I’m old but not so so old that I no longer carry a pager. If it goes off then off I go. So I am not asking anything of anyone else that I haven’t done myself and am not willing to do again.

That is the point isn’t it. I am not willing to sacrifice my own life nor anyone else’s for the sake of a civil war halfway around the globe, where our immediate interests are not involved.

How many times must we relearn that lesson.

How nice. But she still hates them and this country, and supports the decrepit old fool who is ruining this country.

i just hate when Democrats fake fawn over the military.
Everyone knows they’d strip the military to give that $$ to welfare.

It is not a civil war. Why are you repeating this Russian trope?

Except for brief moments at my doctor's office, I haven't worn a mask for over a year.

OK, I'll say it...we shouldn't be doing these deployments, unless it's due to a NATO commitment.

China is smirking as we send our supply of javelins and other materiel to Ukraine.

Wow! We agree on Jill. But what really creeped me out was that White House Christmas vid with the singing and dancing nurses wearing masks (except for the lead singers) and the camera would cut to Jill smiling and nodding. She was so unreal, eerie, and pod person like.

I'll turn 68 next week, and I'd be willing to join the fray if it were necessary. Give me a little retraining, and I'd be just like those old company commanders in the years after the Civil War.

That's where the term "Old Man" comes from. You had Captains with 20+ years time in grade serving as Company Commanders. It was an affectionate term for the CO. LOL, as a 29 YO Battery Commander, I loved it when I heard the term...and I heard it a lot.
