Has America almost depleted its supply of essential weapons for Ukraine?
Washington Times ^ | Tuesday, May 3, 2022 | Brandon J. Weichert - -

Not wanting to see Ukraine return to being under the sway of Moscow, Washington found willing allies in the Ukrainian people. If the West, as led by the United States, could provide military assistance in the form of weapons, intelligence, and medical support, the Ukrainians would do the fighting — and dying — against the Russian Army that had invaded their lands.

United States and its NATO allies did just that: They overwhelmed Ukraine with a consistent supply of the weapons that Kyiv’s defenders would need to beat back the Russian advance (Stingers and Javelin anti-tank systems being the most prominent).

New reports have now been disseminated to an increasingly concerned public that the West’s major defense contractors are unable to replenish the drained stocks of Javelin anti-tank missiles and stingers.

Shortages abound all along the Ukrainian axis of advance, largely because the war has so badly drained American and European supplies.

Americans, we should be asking our leaders how we got to this place where weapons that are both essential and basic for modern warfare — such as Javelin anti-tank missiles and Stingers — are suddenly unavailable in the numbers needed to fight a modern war?

$780 billion a year doesn’t buy what it used to.

If all these news reports are true then this is an intentional effort to disarm America before China invades Taiwan or North Korea decides to invade Hawaii or something. If we haven’t got the arms to fight back, then we will lose regardless of our efforts.

That’s the plan. China wants the supplies at zero so they can walk into Taiwan. They will send Joe a thank you card.

Imo, the elites have considered the advantages of mutually assured destruction. Never let planetary armageddon go to waste.

Very good question.

Not only could we run out of key weapons, the weapons we are shipping over to Ukraine could fall into the hands of terrorists.

We’ve seen that scenario before.

And we’re depleting our Strategic Oil Reserve by 1 million gallons per day for the next six months.

We can’t build anymore javelins or stingers because we don’t have the computer chips?

I’m thinking that is the plan (we have to remember who’s running our government)...dump all we have in a futile war in Ukraine, and then tell our allies, particularly Taiwan, that they’re out of luck.

Nothing else makes sense, since our government hasn’t even mentioned kicking up Defense Spending since the attack. Instead, all we hear is that virtually all of our defensive systems are being tossed in Ukraine.

Correct. And we don’t have the gases to make the computer chips because we killed our domestic industry and the world’s major production center for them was in Ukraine.

U.S. weapons cost maybe twice what can be bought elsewhere; e.g., Javelin $80,000 versus NLAW $40,000. The military-industrial complex holds our national security hostage. The waste is bad enough when we wind up with useful weapons. It’s beyond the pale when we’re talking about the Littoral Combat Ship (AKA the literal non-combat ship) and other boondoggles. Waste is NOT patriotic.

Between Ukraine and Afghanistan we’ve spent enormous sums of taxpayer dollars which could have been put to much greater use, or better yet, not spent at all

China thanks us, and ironically so do the Russians. They destroy most of it as soon as it arrives in country.

“... because the war has so badly drained American and European supplies. ...”

not only drained our supplies, but our treasury!!!

we may have the best fighting force in the world, but the poorest logistics. Could we fight a war, large or small, right now having drained our military supplies????

“or North Korea decides to invade Hawaii or something.”

Not gonna happen. The minute some outsider steps foot onto the locals’ beach, they are so getting their @$$ kicked.
