The news about the board of Twitter agreeing to a $44B takeover offer from the billionaire Elon Musk caused both celebrations and meltdowns all over the world.
Musk tweeted the following:
🚀💫♥️ Yesss!!!

The situation currently on Twitter is such that merely questioning the groupthink can get a user suspended.  At times, information is suppressed without the user's knowledge — i.e., the tweet is allowed, but its visibility is restricted.  Twitter also allows and promotes trends that are beneficial to the progressive agenda.
For conservatives, the hope is that Musk will liberate the platform from its overwhelming leftward bias and restore free speech. Many conservatives are hoping their suspended accounts will be restored.
The left's meltdown began the very day Musk made his bid public.  Twitter employees staged walkouts in protest.  MSNBC warned its few viewers that Musk's takeover of Twitter will have "massive, life and globe-altering consequences."  SNL took the low road; under the guise of satire, they claimed that Musk's bid was because "White guys want to use the N-word."
Now that the bid has been accepted, the New York Times, in a cliché-ridden article that reads like a parody piece, is claiming that "Musk's reasons for taking control of Twitter aren't about free speech; it's about controlling a megaphone.  With his legion of fans, Musk will command a gigantic megaphone and be free to plug his own investments, pooh-pooh sound health regulations and shout down critics."  The article also claims that "[f]emale Twitter users, in particular, ought to worry about whether Musk will bring his apparent disdain for women to the company he is about to own."

Interesting point you make, Just wanting to sit at the table is one of the reasons we continually get our butts kicked. They are merciless and cheat. We play nice and beg like puppies.
Maybe we’re just optimistic and wanna watch the fun unfold.
“Twitter’s board may have accepted Musk’s offer, but that doesn’t mean things change magically. Twitter has a complex organizational structure. There are copious policies and standards. There are rules of corporate governance that mandate multi-level approvals for any changes.”
That’s exactly what it does mean. The board is fired on day one, it will be fully private and owned by him. The policies and standards and multi-level approvals can be swept away in an afternoon by the new owner who privately holds the company.
About all he cannot do is walk in and fire all black employees or something similarly illegal.
Nobody is blind to big tech machinations anymore.
“All of this means abundant red tape before any change is allowed to percolate.”
given that Musk is sole owner, he can eliminate that red tape with a snap of the finger WHEN he so chooses ... twitter will no longer be a public company and will have little constraint on how it is run ... for example, Musk could choose to just shut it down if he so chooses, and poof, there goes all of that “red tape” ...
That big jump was when he first made an offer and I thin his final offer was for $46/share.
I NEVER underestimate Elon Musk.
IF MUSK OWNS it all—HE can make the rules the way he wants them.
EVERYTHING prior is no longer in place.
Can’t read much into that price drop as major indices (DOW, NASDAQ) are down.
“So not sure how radically this platform will change in the near future.”
Who knows, but it would be interesting, and probably perfectly legal, for Musk to state that part of performance assessments under his reign will be something like “Commitment to Free Speech”.
...that would sure get interesting.
work out when Musk takes it private?
You are gonna go out there and tell Elon Musk what ridiculous “rules” to follow?
Don't make me laugh.
$54.20.
Everybody knows that.
Please don't try any more disinformation.
Pretty much. "SerkAndFind" is crying because Musk took over Twitter and the crazy left cant keep banning conservatives. Chuckle.
RE: “SerkAndFind” is crying because Musk took over Twitter
And you know that how? How do you know I am not cheering? You seem to be a self-proclaimed mind reader.
Your post # 2?
Politics is about power.
If your group does not seize and hold it, someone else will.
Conservatives still have not figured out that politics is a zero sum game.
You either win or you lose.
The “middle of the road” makes you road kill—you lose.
RE: Your post # 2?
Read Post #2 again and tell me whether it is an attempt at a clinical analysis of how things might play out or an attempt at telling people how I personally feel about the takeover.
