Ron DeSantis Signs Anti-CRT Legislation in Florida: ‘We Believe in Education, Not Indoctrination’
Breitbart ^ | April 22,2022 | HANNAH BLE

Posted on 04/22/2022 5:57:05 PM PDT by Hojczyk

“We’re here today, because we believe in education, not indoctrination,” DeSantis said during Friday’s press conference, flanked by Florida officials and parents.

An important tenant of freedom in Florida, DeSantis said, is “freedom from having oppressive ideologies opposed upon you without your consent, whether it be in the classroom or whether it be in the workplace, and we decided to do something about it.”

The bill DeSantis signed on Friday provides what he described as “substantive protections for both students and parents to ensure that the education they’re receiving in Florida is consistent with the standards of the state of Florida.” Those standards do not allow “pernicious ideologies like Critical Race Theory to be taught in our K-12 schools,” the governor said, promising that tax dollars will not be used to teach children to hate the United States.

Every student counts, DeSantis continued, making it clear that the state is not interested in categorizing individuals based on race

We are not going to tell some kindergartner that they’re an oppressor based on their race,” he said, adding that they are also not going to teach children that they are oppressed based on their race, either.

He briefly addressed opponents who are lying about the bill, who claim that the DeSantis administration is attempting to stop children from learning history:

It is required in Florida statutes to teach about all segments of American history, where you have to teach about the Holocaust. You must teach about African American history. You teach about the institution and the abolition of slavery. You teach about the failure of the post-Civil War amendments to take hold and how you needed to fight for civil rights.

I happened upon Ron DeSantis’ tweet about signing the bill, and most of the first 20 tweets were so anti-DeSantis. I wanted an account, so I could tweet, ‘70% of Americans back DeSantis’ Parental Rights in Education Law. Too bad about you. Meantime, there’s Elon Musk.’

Obviously, taxpayers don’t pay for maintenance at Disney. They’ll have to pay for fighting fires. I assume Disney called cops on criminals, but you never know.

“That expense will now be passed on to local taxpayers.”

That has to be the dumbest statement I have heard, where do you get your information? From the DU?

Disney will continue to pay for their maintenance and it will cost them more which they will pass on to their customers.

I’m impressed. DeSantis isn’t all words, no action, like most politicians.

And he gets it… his statements cut right to the heart of the matter.

one year ago, I never would have said that some one other than trump should be ran as a presidential candidate in the 2024 election after the democratic party and members of the republican party colluded together to create a situation where fair honest elections could not be held and that the legal system would be tied up in a way that challenges to illegal voting activity could not be challenged in the alloted time after the election

at this time, we have with DeSantis a politician Beter suited to finish what trump started... When we take back the house Senat and presidency, we need to be prepared to go for the democrat’s jugular and that means arresting key individuals for treason. if we do this Trump is just too blunt of a tool and as good as he was as a president he had one big flaw. not being able to spot political opportunists or democrat secret agents that would betray his trust.

Not only that but DeSantis doesn’t waste political capital with self aggrandizement, name-calling and braggadocio. These are losing traits, IMHO.

We need more people like himself to get elected governors of their perspective states, then to stay there and do things like what DeSantis is going.

If he was to be elected President, the GOPe and Rats would oppose him at every turn just like they did Trump.
