Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is fighting to fend off a pro-Trump challenger to Sen. Lisa Murkowski, flooding airwaves with ads defending the Alaska Republican’s record.

The Senate Leadership Fund, the super PAC associated with Mr. McConnell, said Monday that it booked more than $7 million worth of ad time in Alaska to boost Ms. Murkowski.

“It’s important for Lisa to be reelected. She’s one of the few … moderates in the middle of the Senate,” Mr. McConnell told Axios this week.

The GOP leader added that Ms. Murkowski had been a “key player” to advance bipartisan legislation and that he would do everything in his power to ensure her success in November.

Ms. Murkowski, 64, is fending off a primary challenge from Kelly Tshibaka, who received the endorsement of former President Donald Trump.

Murkowski can hold us hostage for her vote - she’s probably threatened to leave the caucus if she doesn’t have support.

Defeating her would be good for us in more ways than one. But she has RCV in her corner.

Collins has to be to keep her seat so I can sort of look the other way. But not Murkowski & Romney their constituents aren’t going to boot them over conservative pro-Trump votes.

Aren’t all three of them are a bit long in tooth, Father Time will soon be taking them out if their voters don’t.

Why should Trump care about Republicans controlling the Senate?

“This is his priority, to keep and get MORE moderates in the Senate...to help the Democrats whenever possible.”

His priority is not political. It’s personal. He’s spent a lifetime giving favors. He needs people who owe him favors to get reelected, otherwise he has wasted whatever it was he traded for them to owe him a favor. The reason we ended up with Senator Bob Dole as a presidential candidate was enough people owed him favors that he was able to call them in and be the candidate. It didn’t matter that he looked and acted like an extra from “Dawn Of The Dead.” He’d paid his dues and was able to call in his favors and...damn it! it was his turn. So he was the second most unattractive political candidate in modern history (Biden is number one) and he lost the election. Which, didn’t matter to Dole, as it was his turn.

But protecting the investment in favors is why politicians do what appears to be unlikely things.

flooding airwaves with ads defending the Alaska Republican’s record.

Suddenly Alaskans are seen in public places doubling over and retching their guts out.

From the article:
The GOP leader added that Ms. Murkowski had been a “key player” to advance bipartisan legislation...

That in a nutshell describes our "Party in Opposition": it is not. Our party thinks it can only submit or break even.

McConnell needs to support Democrats to protect his position and support his globalism.

#24: "Why are Kentuckians so Whack!"

Yes, good question. Why?

Kentucky gives us Bitch McConnell on the bad side, but KY also gives us Rand Paul on the good side.

Then they elect that aspiring fag for governor. What is up? What is in that KY drinking water?

the only legislation worth “advancing” is that which deconstructs Fed.gov

I JUST received an email from the NRSC with a picture of Trump on it (not authorized/endorsed by any candidate as noted at the bottom, BTW) wanting me to join their wall of dumbasses or something.

I replied they get nothing from me until they ditch McConnell and then I told them to “Go fvck yourselves.”

McConnell has to support Murkowski. Murkowski votes one way for things so McConnell can vote the other way so he can say he’s a conservative. He does the same with with that other bitch from Maine. Basically, McConnell would vote with Democrats all the time if there not enough votes coming from someplace else. He fully knows that if he ran as a Democrat in KY, he would never be reelected. The stupid shits there keep seeing that (R) next to his name and keep voting for him.

They would be crazy not to reelect McConnell. Power is money. It's the way DC is set up.
