The far right is rising in the ranchland of Northern California, using special elections and veiled intimidation to spread political influence across a historically conservative region of this deeply liberal state.
The movement is rooted here in Shasta County and includes the support of a roughly decade-old militia. The gains it has achieved have come at the expense of moderate Republicans, who for generations fit the small-government, light-regulation ethic that guided political life here.

Although they claimed Joe Biden got 81 million votes in the 2020 election (har), I think most everyone has noticed by now that Democrats have since been acting like a downtrodden, put-upon minority group, not a powerful political party. It's to the point where Nancy Pelosi felt obligated to attempt to raise their spirits during the State of the Union by pretending to be a demented junior high cheerleader.

almost everyone mentioned in this article is in their 50s, 60s, or 70s. Many are business or ranch owners. They engaged in the recall Newsom effort and efforts to recall others as well, all perfectly legal. The “leader” of this bunch of desperados is described as a retired Marine who is Peruvian-American.
It would not hurt for these SF newsmen to read the US Militia Laws. WE are not serfs or peasants YET!

(a) The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section 313 of title 32, under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States and of female citizens of the United States who are members of the National Guard.
(b) The classes of the militia are—
(1) the organized militia, which consists of the National Guard and the Naval Militia; and

Only in the fevered brains of Bay Areas pinkos is California “deeply liberal.” I’m pretty sure his liberal means progressive, and Cali is mostly a red state except for the over-densely populated cities of LA and SF/Oak.
How many cities has this “militia” burned down?
How many people have they killed.
How many officers have they sent to the hospital.
How many tens of millions did it’s leaders abscond with?
How many of it’s members go up and down the street with
bags looting and destroying businesses that are open at

The San Francisco Chronicle should include eye condoms with
these types of articles.
We need “right wing militias” all over the country.
