One week into Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and military analysts are united on one front, at least: Russia’s invasion has not gone entirely to plan, looking disorganized, uncoordinated and sluggish to observers.
...
“It’s going to be worse than what the Russians had in Afghanistan, that’s what the Ukrainians are going to do,” he added, alluding to the then Soviet Union’s drawn-out, bloody, costly and unpopular invasion of Afghanistan in 1979 that lasted 10 years and led to the loss of around 15,000 Soviet soldiers.
...
Russia has not been able to swiftly achieve its military objectives, he said, because “the Russians are not nearly as well trained as they think they are or as we thought they were, they’re not nearly as well equipped,” he said.

THIS. The so-called ‘analysts” had their version of how the war was supposed to go. Now they don’t know what to do.
This is a far cry from Afghanistan because of the highly sympathetic Russian population in the east. I don’t trust any news coming out right now.
For now, I’m going by the second and third sentence of your quote. Especially the third.
Plus, I’ll go by DJT’s actions more than specific words here and there.
NCSWIC. Not even for Deep State Ukraine. Nothing.
“Maker of Russian Ladas shuts down automotive production line due to the inability to procure semiconductors (US Foreign Product Rule in action)
Expect major impact on Russian defense and space production as well”
Russia’s economy is slowly grinding down.
I don’t think Ukraine was impressed with Russia’s “shock and awe” military attack.
But Russia’s economy is in for some “shock and awe”.
I was curious about what a Pansir S-1 vehicle was so I looked it up. It’s a mobile anti-aircraft missile launcher, and according to the picture on Wikipedia, that empty compartment behind the cab the Ukrainian soldier is looking into is where they keep the spare tires. (LOL!)
Something sure isn’t right. Everything in US MSM, this government and social media says #ukraineiswinning, but there’s a lot of it that’s either been debunked (like old pictures, video games, etc.) or just plain propagandized to the hilt.
On the Ukrainian side we get stuff like “Russians taking portable crematories” or “Russians will be bombing their own cities” or “Russia columns completely destroyed and thousands of Russian soldiers dead” but there just doesn’t seem to be any ‘there’ there.
I really don’t know what’s happening. I suspect we won’t ever know. All we’ll have is Russia in control of the Ukraine and the same propagandists and ‘analysts’ will still be pushing their narratives.
My inside sources give me a different story. According to my sources, two of whom I have verified from past accurate reporting on the Face of Mars, the Deep State was holding the mummified bodies of the Roswell aliens at that nuclear plant, and the Ukrainians were doing human-alien hybrid experiments under their auspices in an attempt to engineer The Master Race and unleash this human-alien child's massive psychic potential to annihilate all the Russians and Jews in the Donbass. If successful, it would have been unleashed on Putin himself!
Russia needs to ship in more equipment from far east. War going badly. (with video)
“Khabarovsk is near the Pacific.
If these are being mobilized now, it suggests Russian losses have been extremely high, and that they’ve realized that 65% of Russia’s army wasn’t enough.
The war is going to take much longer. These will take at least a week to reach Ukraine.”

This is Russian inspired conspiracy bs. Russians over the years have been accusing, with no evidence, the US of having "bio-weapons" labs in the country of Georgia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, etc.

Me too. I’m not believing much of anything. There’s a war going on- that seems clear. Russia has invaded Ukraine and Ukraine is fighting back. Hundreds of thousands are fleeing Ukraine. Beyond that- it’s a mystery to me because the agendas are noisier than the facts.
The media is generally clueless about anything other than the leftist message and propaganda they are told to spew. It has been obvious for years, decades even that they don't bother to do any research, proof reading, nor editing. It is all about the narrative.
Anyway, I *think* I'm starting to see what is going on in Ukraine. Granted this is just an engineer's view from thousands of miles away but consider:
Putin is old school, so are his supporters. They like the idea of the glory days of the Soviet Union. They at least like the idea of buffer states. Finally, they have some real (and probably valid) concerns with having a NATO member nation right in their face with a decent sized military of their own, access to NATO resources, and poised uncomfortably close to Caspian Sea oil fields which Russia depends upon. After all, we demonstrated to the world that we could run a campaign of rapid armor advancement a couple of times now in the Middle East. That was across mostly unforgiving desert. Southern Russia is much more tank/armor friendly terrain with many more roads. A few rivers, but those are easily crossed, NATO has been practicing that for decades in preparation for war in Europe.
So I believe Putin has two strategic objectives. First, keep Ukraine out of NATO. Second, install a pro-Russian or at least Russia-friendly government. Maybe something similar to Belarus which occasionally makes some noise, but is still there for Russia - heck some invasion forces have apparently come through Belarus.
In light of those probable strategic goals Putin wouldn't want his military stomping across Ukraine destroying everything in it's path. They want a conquered Ukraine that they can use for resources, not a drain on their own. They also don't want a united Ukrainian population rising up against them. They're also trying to do this "on the cheap" without committing overwhelming forces and resources. As a consequence we're seeing a number of "odd" things:
In short - they are only pushing as hard as they need to, not as hard as they could. The pressure will continue to build through slow advancements, taking more territory. There will be ever increasing hardships on the Ukrainian people. Eventually Ukraine will have to negotiate a peace, or Russia will have taken enough territory and cities to declare/install their own government and unilaterally declare a halt to hostilities. Then anyone that continues fighting will be labeled terrorists...
As the Russia invasion of Ukraine shows no sign of letting up, longshore workers on Thursday said they would refuse to load or unload any Russian vessel or handle any incoming or outgoing Russian cargo.
The announcement by the International Longshore and Warehouse Union covers some 20,000 workers at all 29 U.S. West Coast ports.
“Former russian foreign minister calls Putin delusional and demands tougher sanctions and more weapons for Ukraine.”
“Russia’s former top diplomat says the West’s previous appeasement of Putin has made him ‘delusional’”
Very good point.
Lots of misinformation, propaganda and foolish analysis. Taking my time to wade through it to derive opinions that are sound. Very hard to do. At this point, about the most I can say is that Putin has lusted after Ukraine for a long time and he has been looking for an excuse to do it, like protecting Russians in eastern Ukraine. My personal opinion is that the following issues motivated him more than anything:
1- Biden moving to restrict US oil production, boosting oil prices
2- Pipeline running though Ukraine
3- Warm water seaports of Ukraine and Crimea are very much big issues for Russia, both with respect to trade and military use
4- Controlling agricultural production capacity in Ukraine
Simply stated, the Ukraine and Crimea are essential for Russia from a strategic standpoint
I advise checking out You Tube for videos from several foreign sources. Some of the reporting is great and some is garbage, but you can get a better view of events through the fog of war filter.
How many Javelins are now going to hit the black market?
How long till we see them used in Iraq?
Or that matter, Chicago?
The US and NATO are blundering into a war that is going to mess with our interests much closer to home than the Ukraine.
We, here, are veterans of misinformation from this country!
New air battle. Can’t tell who is getting shot down, but clear Ukraine is still sending fighters up.
No Russian air superiority yet.

I watched the video of the ‘burning’ nuclear plant and couldn’t make anything out with any reasonable clarity. There just isn’t a way to vet every youtube video or picture that happens to pop up.
After the Afghanistan Debacle, I’d keep my trap shut before commenting on Russia, if I were the US Military.
