Oil prices surged nearly 5% and stock prices dropped Tuesday after Russian President Vladimir Putin recognized the independence of rebel-held regions of Ukraine, raising fears that a full-scale invasion was near.

Oil prices had already risen to their highest level since 2014. By early Tuesday, the advance of U.S. benchmark crude oil had abated slightly. It was up about $3, or 3.5%, to about $94 per barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The price of Brent crude, the standard for international oils, gained about $4.50, or nearly 5%, to hit about $98 per barrel.

High oil prices will reduce the consumption of evil carbon and should be welcomed by Democrats.

I’ve been out a couple of months..I think Wall Street has no hope for Biden...

I see it going down to 20,000 unless the GOP wins the house and senate..even then it could get there...GOP is hopeless

I’ll let my oil and gas stocks run up for a few more months before profit taking. I suspect Gold will do well for another few months as well.

Good luck, libs will never admit this. Blame Trump or if the Republicans take Congress in mid terms they will somehow twist it to blame them trying to sink 2024 election.

That's exactly the point.

Have you noticed how much better gas mileage cars get compared to decades ago? I'm old enough to remember when you did good to get 10 mpg. Have any of the Dims sounded like they were happy with all of that improvement?

There's no pleasing them.

I've been out of all equities. That's not just a Brandon thing, though I keep that in mind. It's mainly cuz stocks have a very high Shiller PE.

I’m well-prepped, since 2002, with food, water, paper towels, TP , cash, plus ammo and firearms to defend it — a 2-3yr supply — so I’m not worried. I won’t be deterred by a bullshit “Global Climate Emergency”, in any way, shape or form. Count on it.

” But the American people understand that defending democracy and liberty is never without cost””

Funny how nobody in DC, on Wall Street, in the EU, Saudi Arabia, or communist China ever has to pay a cost to protect MY freedom.

If it gets far enough that anyone reading needs this: http://www.driveonwood.com/ has plans for how to modify your vehicle to run on wood and/or charcoal.

Personally I recommend the charcoal option, because it’s easier on the engine. And you can make charcoal out of a lot of different things, which is handy if you’re in an area without a lot of trees. Some charcoal-making methods can even double as waste disposal, in case the plumbing breaks down.

I doubt this work be practical for long road trips or hauling a truckload of cargo, but it might be enough to keep at least some of the tractors running!

I’d rather see Russia annex Ukraine (which is has no desire to do) than see $5 a gallon gasoline.

I just filled-up the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Supercharged HEMI V8 (710hp) yesterday with 16.8gal at $3.29/gal (in a 25gal tank) for $72.00, for Ethanol Free 90oct Premium. Today, the same gas is at $3.79/gal. During Trump's tenure as POTUS, it was a mere $2.75/gal.

Bring back DJT!

Can we break the modern record of $147?

I don’t think so.

Yes, I like it.
It’ll blow-off most anything on the road. $100k, and what you can deal with the dealer. I’ve “souped it up” with a few “goodies”, so I’m dyno-ing 850hp at the rear wheels. It’s a monster.

The special drive train, and special suspension is seriously-magnafluxed and easily handles the power and torque.
