The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported last week that there were 3,613,647 births registered in the United States in 2020 and that 1,464,121 of these—or 40.5 percent--were to unmarried mothers.
"The percentage of all births to unmarried women was 40.5% in 2020," said the CDC's "Births: Final Data for 2020" report.
The CDC also reported that 42.0% percent of births in the United States in 2020 were covered by government-funded Medicaid.
Among the 50 states, according to the report's Supplemental Table I-7, Mississippi had the highest percentage of babies born to unmarried mothers (55.8 percent).

How do they count babies born to the 2nd, 3rd or 4th “wife” of a person from the middle east? As legitimate or illegitimate?
Western civilization has been collapsing since the mid 1960s. No political effort has stopped it.
I’d wager that the 42% from Medicaid were illegals (who our government now call ‘migrants.’)

For any medical high expense, they separate so the female can get Medicaid because they have to.
This can be misleading. Recent estimates show that about 40 percent of births in the United States occur outside of marriage, but it doesn’t indicate which people are having a family outside of marriage. My question is how many of these births to unmarried mothers are to those that are living with the father, just not married. Or in some states, common law.
Marriage is a contract that in many ways is being joined with religion. In north America, it wasn’t until 1639 that marriage contracts were put in place in one region, the northeast. And marriage contracts were not really prevalent until the 19th century.
I believe this could be some of the kickback from the erasel of religion from the schools back in the 1950’s. The kids are continuing to act as a normal function while not using the marriage contract and instead having an atmosphere of it.

What's really tragic is that many of these are PLANNED that way.
Entire destruction of the nuclear family is the Communist goal.
I tell my kids much the same with great results.
It is a good thing to be a high functioner, but will also be exhausting dragging along those who were not taught how to be responsible adults

This has been engineered by the Dems, it's not a bug, it's a feature of their plan. It started with Johnson's Great Society. Before the Great Society 3% of white babies and 24% of black babies were born out of wedlock, now it's about 28% for white and 80+% for blacks. Women with out of wedlock children are much, much more likely to be on welfare than married ones. People on welfare almost always vote democrat because it's only natural to vote for the party that promises to give you more. Children raised by unwed mothers usually grow up to be unwed parents themselves so the cycle repeats itself.
It's pretty simple. Democrats pursue anti-family policies because over time it increases democratic voters. It's the same reason they want the borders wide open, over time they know it'll increase their voter base to have more people that are reliant upon government freebies. Our system of constantly expanding government benefits is driving us to a one party state with the democrats in permanent control. AOC said at a campaign rally the other day that it's inevitable Texas will turn blue and when that happens democrats will hold everything. As stupid as she is, she's right. She's just repeating what people more intelligent than her have said. As it is now our Texas border is just a giant door for importing democratic voters and their future offspring.
I understand that, but I also spent a lot of time at the local county hospital in Marietta when my second grand daughter was born. Used to go outside to smoke while waiting. Can’t tell you how many times I saw cars with non-English speaking Latinos drive up with a preggers and they’d wheel out a wheelchair to take them up to the maternity ward with my daughter who was paying full-fare, no insurance rates.
I remember at times people asking whether they’d seen a doctor at all or who their doctor was or something to get an idea of what went on with prenatal care. NADA.

We now live in culture in which its considered ok to have sex with any number of partners, under any circumstances.
We also seem to be living in a contradiction, in that, multiple reliable reliable birth control methods are more available than ever before. Yet against that backdrop ,record numbers are born out of wedlock.
And yet, the TV and print ads show nuclear families of all races.
In the early days of Johnson’s Great Society you would hear stories about the father of a family keeping all his belongings in the garage so there would be no sign of a man around. When the social worker showed up at the front door he went out the back.
The government wanted this situation and they got it.
My grandma told me many decades ago:
“Never believe anything you see on TV.”
