White House says Homeland Security chief urged Ottawa to use its powers to quash this blockade
U.S officials have offered help the Trudeau government end an anti-vaccine mandate protest that is sending ripple effects through the American economy and causing increasing concern in Washington.
The White House says U.S officials had multiple conversations on Thursday with their Canadian counterparts about the blockade on the Ambassador Bridge, a major trade artery which connects Windsor, Ont. with Detroit.
The White House said Thursday the U.S. federal cabinet and senior administration staff are now seized with the issue.
"(They) have been engaged around the clock to bring this to a swift end," the White House said in response to questions from CBC News.
The administration of U.S President Joe Biden said Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas urged his Canadian counterparts Thursday to use their own federal powers to end the blockade at the Canada-U.S. border.
Mayorkas also reportedly offered the help of his department to end the impasse.
The White House did not elaborate on the offer of help. Mayorkas's department handles multiple agencies, including U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Those officers are posted at border checkpoints, including the Ambassador Bridge--the busiest crossing between the two countries and a vital trade link...

Trudeau’s government in in danger of falling from a non confidence vote in Parliament. He has locked himself into a solar powered greenhouse bunker and is ex-cummunicado.He refuses to meet with the Freedom Convoy Organizers and their lawyers.
No politician will ever govern again in Canada if they govern under the supposition that the Charter of Rights and Freedoms of Canada are “optional” and only apply when “convenient.”

There would have to ba a swith of 36 votes over to the Conservative side from the NDP and liberals.
Ontario is run by a Conservative Premier who is trying to defund the movement. He is a traitor but has been forced to act by the inactivity of the Trudeau government to end the blockage at the Anbassador Bridge , costing some 300 million bucks per day to the auto industry and to the food supply business.
Trudeau ois simply letting thinhs get so bad that the military will be called to intervene when he has wha he nmeeds to invoke “ The Emergency Act” ( formerly the War Measures Act. Canada has no posse commitatus law, and so the militray can be used to remove the Convoy. But Cnada has only 70,000 full time military in its standingmilitary, of which pn;y about 14,000 are combat troops, so there are just not enough. Trudeau may invite help from the US Military forces, Cheater Joe has offered them, and for the forst time in a loong time, Canada can have US troops on Canada’s soil om a de facto invasion.
This fight for freedom looks like it can accelerate beyond civil control.

My understanding is that the Canadian truckers are blocking the Canadian side of the bridge. What exactly can the US federal government do about Canadians protesting in Canada?
