Sen. Marco Rubio said Sunday that “vice presidents can’t simply decide not to certify” the result of an election, distancing himself from the repeated claims of former President Donald Trump.
Mr. Trump has insisted that former Vice President Mike Pence could have changed the results of the 2020 election.
“I just don’t think a vice president has that power,” Mr. Rubio said on CBS’s “Face the Nation.”
“If President Trump runs for reelection, I believe he would defeat Joe Biden — and I don’t want Kamala Harris to have the power as vice president to overturn that election,” he said. “That is the same thing that I concluded in January of 2021.”
Mr. Pence scored headlines last week after delivering remarks before the Federalist Society in which he said, “President Trump is wrong.
“I had no right to overturn the election,” Mr. Pence said.

I don’t like Rubio, but on this point he’s absolutely right.

On Jan. 6th, there was ample evidence of an election gone wrong. In 2024, I think a lot of things are going to be fixed, and Camel Harris couldn’t risk it.
Pence did decide not to find out and verify who really won.
I cannot wish him well...God heal my heart.
He thinks the election was not fraught with fraud. However, there should be a mechanism to invalidate election results when states completely ignore their own election laws to get a different result than what legitimate voters intended.
The Pennsylvania legislature sent Pence an official document advising Pence not to accept the PA electors.
If the state legislators send Kamala Harris the same declaration, then yes, Harris can decide NOT to accept the electors UNTIL a full audit and review of the election is completed.
Hopefully Harris will do just as the Constitution requires of the VP: open the envelopes containing the electoral ballots and hand the ballots to the pre-selected members of Congress to be counted. That’s the only thing the Constitution gives her power to do, no other power is given to her as far as the Elecotral session in Congress.
Pence is 100% USDA Prime GOP rino. The rinos went right along with the mail-in/drop box election. Therefore, Pence and every rino in any position of power are responsible for the election steal of 2020.
“A dozen Cheyenne tribe members had to wait on line to vote for more than 20 minutes. That’s evidence of a systemic attempt to deny Injuns the right to vote … therefore, we are disputing Wyoming’s 3 electoral votes for [Insert GOP Candidate Name Here].”
Last week more that 2 million Pennsylvania write-in votes were declared unconstitutional. They were equally unconstitutional on 1/6/21, the day Pence certified them.
