Chinese Olympics fans erupted on social media, furious that California-born skater Zhu Yi defected to China for the games but finished in a disastrous dead last place during her debut for Team China.
Yi, who gave up her U.S. citizenship to become a Chinese citizen so she could compete for the communist government’s genocide Olympics, finished with the lowest score for the entire event in Beijing on Saturday, the Daily Mail reported.
The 19-year-old scored a lowly 47.04 after she fell to the ice on her first combination triple flip-triple toe-loop jump and then crashed into the wall. Yi also muffed her triple loop minutes later

Good question. Every source I have seen states she relinquished US citizenship. I wonder whose Chinese language teacher starting saying the contrary.
Although she failed to be useful to Party for these purposes, her organs are still young and healthy, so maybe they find some profitable use for her later.

The requirement is to publicly renounce citizenship (and also titles of nobility) in a public statement. Beyond that, I don't think there are any formal legal procedures one must undertake.
I know people who have become citizens via naturalization who still carry their prior passports. Of course, they won't use them to exit the United States because it won't necessarily get them back in.

Given that you claimed her Chinese father that now resides in China was a white American you will have to source your statements for any credibility.
FWIW Wikipedia says nothing about her renouncing her US citizenship. Zhu should update her Wikipedia entry to reflect her renouncement. Ya think?
