Ottawa police believe there is a significant faction involved in the trucker convoy from the U.S., with plans for more to come, and that there is evidence some participants have brought in weapons to the downtown core.
According to a statement from the convoy’s organizers Wednesday, they plan to remain in Ottawa “for as long as it takes for governments across Canada to end all mandates associated with COVID-19.”

Well that “weapons” part is about a record for an understatement. Those trucks start about 1,000 horsepower each. and that’s pretty weaponish all by itself. Some of them look to be rigs from the ice roads so they are closer to 2,000 horsepower. Then nearly all are from the tundra or parts outward and there can’t be even one that doesn’t have something to kill a bear with, like, oh, say a 300 Win Mag. And then there’s axe handles and tire irons normally used to emphasize occasional instructions. Things like: shut the bleep up, buzz off, nunya bizness, moveit, and many others translated from the original Canadien.
