BORIS JOHNSON FACING NO CONFIDENCE VOTE
BBC ^ | Jan 19 | BBC

Boris Johnson is expected to face more questions about his leadership at Prime Minister's Questions, as the row over lockdown parties at No 10 continues.

A group of the newest Conservative MPs are believed to be preparing to submit letters of no confidence in him, having met to discuss the issue on Tuesday.

If 54 Tory MPs submit letters, it would trigger a leadership contest.

Only seven are known to have done so, but one MP told the BBC they thought the threshold could be reached shortly.

Another said there was now a consensus, and a leadership contest could come sooner rather than later.

However, only MP Sir Graham Brady, chair of the Conservative backbench 1922 committee - who receives and counts up the no-confidence requests - knows the exact number.

There’s talk the UK is going to stop the vaccines. The mask requirements die on Jan 26th.

As I said at the time FReepers were drinking the “Boris is the UK version of Trump” Kool-Aid, Jacob Rees-Mogg SHOULD have been the choice from the START and is the only “Conservativeā€ MP over there with an across the board track record that is ACTUALLY conservative. Sadly he didn’t run in the leadership election (my distant 2nd choice was the Muslim MP who is ANTI-Sharia Law and pro-Israel, just because he would drive leftists insane). That being said, I am 90% sure the “ Conservative” Party would just replace bumbling Boris with another CINO, continuing the pathetic tradition of Cameron, May, and Bumblin’ BJ

I don’t think he “went Bonkers” OR the “Deep State got to him” . I think he’s ALWAYS been a useless CINO, 0bama loving, big draconian government cheerleader, and you guys simply didn’t read up on his awful record and notice it until he got Covid.

If we hypothetically had the ability to have “No Confidence” motions in the U.S. Congress, I don’t think it would do much. The RAT controlled Congress would keep Biden as leader even if his approval rating was 10%, because Kamala is too polarizing

In a parliamentary system the parliamentary leader would have the executive position - PM or President which means Pelosi !

It was not the chinese virus he was EVER worried about but power to control. An election would take that away and the people are upset enough to remove him so he changes the policy and no masks etc. all for his own vanity.

You wouldn’t necessarily need to have a Parliamentary system to have a “No Confidence” motion in an elected President. I’m sure there’s some country that has such a system in place (possibly as an alternative to impeachment)

Boris went bonkers

It was the wife that changed him. It's always the woman.

“He went bonkers”

“The deep state got to him”

“It was the wife that changed him”

No, no, and no.

Well over a decade ago when he was Mayor of London, “conservative” Boris Johnson championed amnesty for illegal aliens, promoted tax-and-spend policies including promoting the “London Living Wage” mandate, fawned over draconian big government including expanding the NHS, proudly marched in London’s gay pride parade, and “broke from the traditional protocol of those in public office not publicly commenting on other nations’ elections” by endorsing Barack Obama for President.

Now, tell me how “conservative” Prime Minister Boris Johnson is different than the backstabbing faux “conservative” Mayor Boris Johnson.

I can count precisely ONE time where “conservative” Boris Johnson actually took the “conservative” side of an issue, and that’s when he “supported” Brexit from the start. Supposedly he was “for” Brexit for the same reason Mitt Romney was “against” in-state tuition for illegal aliens... it was a wedge issue that played well with his party’s base in stump speeches. I read somewhere that Johnson just went around stumping for Brexit to GOTV for himself and didn’t expect it to actually pass... and when it did he was purportedly shocked and dismayed. Wouldn’t surprise me one bit.
