People are inherently gullible.
Good advice.

The more someone wants to believe something, the more desperate they become to seek out validating sources.
Personally, I have always found the conspiracy genre entertaining. However, I have never treated conspiracy theories with anything but strong skepticism.

I’d replace the word “everything” with “anything”.

My wife started watching YouTube 2 years ago, I warned 90% of the content is wrong.
Today, if anything, it's more.

There an entire industry set up to disseminate false info to all major social sites. Largely funded by America’s enemies. Cina, Rissi, Iran, NK, all have major programs to do it. And unfortunately, they work.
There is no shortage of willing dupes.

Like Mark Twain (the real one) said: “If you don’t read the newspapers you are uninformed. If you do read the newspapers you are misinformed” - that goes for the internet too.

I don’t believe this post. Does that mean I should believe everything else on the Internet? I’m so confused…

The MSM controls the narrative by what they don’t report. Alt sites try to expose the hidden, some get off-base. IMO, there is more untruth on the MSM than Alt sites.

I look for the common thread to at least find a consistency. Lots of things that were labeled conspiracy theory or Q droppings a year ago aren’t so far “out there” now.

You mean that nice but dying General from The Federated States Uranubab isn't sending me $10MM, after I went to the trouble of sending him my SS# and Diners Club PIN?
I'll ask him to disregard. He was so convincing...
Seriously, Thanks for the warning.

Use your head. Listen to your first instincts. The most simple explanations are usually true. Use the past as a guide. Never let anyone bullshit you and you’ll be fine. Read whatever you want but use the above principles to form what position you take on an issue.

Although the corporate media lies plenty, the biggest problem by far is what they omit from telling. Lies by omission.
Into this void step in many alternate information sources. Some legitimate, many dubious.
Does the information align with your experience in the world? Are their other sources confirming the new information? How reliable has this source been in the past?
Those are the questions you should ask before accepting new information
To: Jim Robinson
Politics 101: Don't believe everything you read in the newspapers. And infinitely more so, don't believe everything you read on the internet.Yes be very careful with all sources of the news.
But I wouldn't describe newspapers a being less so with false information.
To: Jim Robinson
Absolutely.
And these days the newspapers are on the internet. I know they still exist on paper too, but who buys them? Public libraries and motel chains?
