Undoubtedly, clubs for the wealthy will remain undisturbed.

For the cloud people - everything. For the dirt people - nothing. This is the guiding principle of our rulers.

I walked to high school and back home every day through a municipal golf course/city park. Created the illusion of being in the great outdoors rather than in an urban area.

‘Affordable Housing Complexes’ will really improve things. We need more trashy/ugly places in this world. /s

I think they should take it a step farther and convert some of the luscious landscapes of the Hollywood elite to Public Putt-Putt Golf Courses and picnic areas for the trash they pander to for Democrat votes... Maybe even throw up a few long-term-stay tents for the urbans-without-domiciles....

No, there will still be plenty of golf for old white guys. Just only RICH old white guys, on the private courses and country clubs.

Golf courses in California, excepting the big name ones were placed in places that could not build housing in. Low lands and river beds. This will really not work out so well.

"Should non-golfers care?"

Imagine you live in a nice house in a nice neighborhood near a nice municipal golf course and park. I'm thinking, for example, of Rancho Park and its public, 9 hole golf course in Los Angeles, near Century City and Beverly Hills.

Now imagine the golf course replace with a massive low-income housing project, and the increase in crime, traffic, drugs, gangs, and other problems the cluster around urban low income, and public housing. So I'd say yes, non-golfers should care.

Santa Cruz County proposed taking our timber property
for a landfill to generate enough public rage that they
could get support for the answer they wanted;
exporting waste to Monterey County at large cost to residents.

Correct. Pebble Beach is privately owned.

Here is the history:

https://heavy.com/sports/2019/06/pebble-beach-golf-course-owner-clint-eastwood/

CA is making another move on the road to third world status.

Private golf courses for the rich, no golf courses for average citizens.

Extra bonus: Crush middle class citizens who own homes near municipal golf courses.

Potential homebuyers need to know that the politicians can (*&^ them over at any time—you want to buy in a neighborhood or town where it is impossible to build multi family projects in your neighborhood.

The most effective way to achieve that objective is to buy where is no town or private community water and sewage—and bringing it there would be super expensive.

Oh, but think of all the water to be saved from not sewage spraying from the water treatment plants.

When there are no wokeness points to be scored, initiatives like this disappear fast.

This is all about money. That public property is worth tens of million of dollars should the city sell it to a developer.

Now the city is going to GIVE it to their special friend developer for FREE. Not only that they are going to give their special friend developer millions in tax money to develop the property.

The special friend developer can sell the property which costs him nothing as long as he kicks back $$$ to the people who approved the scam.

It says provides subsidies to convert. It doesn’t say converts. It is unlikely that Sacramento will turn Land Park or Bing Maloney into affordable housing. Some places might but most won’t.

Having lived in Los Angeles for 28 years I assume this “housing” is for the former.

At some point, does Mexico run out of people? How do they tell when they are out of Mexico and in California? How much is enough?

Not only Mexico, but the rest of the third-world s***holes: a lot of South America, then Haiti, Somalia, etc.
