A bill in the California Legislature authored by Assemblywoman Cristina Garcia (D-Bell Gardens) is proposing to convert California public/municipal golf courses into affordable housing. Assembly Bill 672 provides $50 million in developer subsidies to redevelop California’s municipal golf courses into affordable housing complexes.

Oh, but think of all the water to be saved from not sewage spraying from the water treatment plants.
Most public golf courses are irrigated with treatment water, in order to recharge water supply with a natural, earth, filter.
“Should non-golfers care?”
Hate to say it, Even though it will probably be to house illegals, I support this for one reason and one reason only... LESS WATER TO STEAL FROM OTHERS.
The amount of water wasted on Golf courses for just a few users is HUGE and totally impractical.
They paved paradise and put up a parking lot
With a pink hotel, a boutique, and a swinging hot spot
Don’t it always seem to go
That you don’t know what you got ‘til it’s gone
Not just for the golf but for what public housing will do to those neighborhoods.

Instead of rent, the new tenants will have to pay green fees.
“Affordable Housing”, particularly in California is a joke.
A 5/8” x 4’ x 8’ piece of plywood IN TEXAS today is $46.87. A framing stud (2” x 4” x 8’) is $6.48. These 2 items are the most basic materials used in typical wood frame apartments and these prices are quoted today on Home Depot’s site.
Not very long ago at all, studs could be bought in large quantities for a dollar and half each. Plywood could be bought for 8 bucks.
Democrats have destroyed the construction materials market in the U.S. I have one laborer working today for $30.00 per hour and I am lucky to have him.
“Affordable Housing” is not only a JOKE but is a FRAUD on the American Public perpetrated by Main Stream Media in cahoots with their Marxist Democrat pals.
I remember Cabrini Green in Chicago.
An in your face play on taxpayers who built nice homes on these golf courses. They will suddenly be in the middle of “the projects”. Marxist move.

Not in Cali but agree, I dont play golf but I live in a country club community next to a golf course and I like the neighborhood. A lot.
Moved here for many reasons and not living next to slums or apartments was one of them.
At some point, does Mexico run out of people? How do they tell when they are out of Mexico and in California? How much is enough?
California’s Public Golf Courses to be Converted to Affordable Housing Complexes Under AB 672

More of the whittling away of the remnants of a middle-class lifestyle. Perhaps one is not rich, but you can afford the more modest fees at a public golf course. Now that bit of enjoyment is stripped away, now to be a privilege only for the elites. It’s a slow reduction in any enjoyment of life for the middle-class. Own your home? Forget it. Own a car? Not feasible!
The true joy of the elites is not just having luxuries, but knowing no one else has these luxuries. It is the enjoyment in the suffering of others.
Do you know who does well in third world hellholes like California’s becoming? Ruling ‘elites’...
And their very wealthy pals like Epstein, Bill Gates, Hollywood sluts, pretentious fools who ‘earned’ their money by having wealthy grandfathers... and gobs of really really poor people willing to sell their children for a meal...
It’s surprising CNN’s perverts aren’t begging to move their propaganda machine to California... it’s a match.
The elites don’t want common folks to play their sport. Just another round in the war against the middle class.
Tell him there are lawyers in Texas working for that if he wants to spend $100k for a law degree for the same pay. And yes, hours aren't guaranteed.
What about changing all football, baseball and basketball stadiums into apartments.
PB is private!
Pebble is a privately owned, public course...anyone can play, if they can afford the green fee.
(But it’s not a city owned, muni course).
