A bill in the California Legislature authored by Assemblywoman Cristina Garcia (D-Bell Gardens) is proposing to convert California public/municipal golf courses into affordable housing. Assembly Bill 672 provides $50 million in developer subsidies to redevelop California’s municipal golf courses into affordable housing complexes.

My liberal venture capitalist relative saw the light 5 years ago and left San Fran. Called it a move to a more central location in the country because he flies to both coasts a lot.
That was his excuse for getting out without blaming San Fran. He went from a 1,400 SF San Fran house to a 4,400 SF Colorado house for the same money, and now has a ski condo too.

Fortunately, I believe, pebble beach is privately owned. It would be a crime to destroy it with tacky housing. The 17 mile drive is one of the worlds most scenic byways.
Or we could cry ageism as golf is one of the few sports that can be enjoyed into ones eighties

California lawmakers seem to want to turn their country into Mexico Norte. Every year more and more restrictions.
It’s all fun and games until the money runs out.
Tear down an old building to make room for a new building.
I like to drive by golf courses.
Put new cement where the old cement is.

Well, I don’t golf and I don’t care.
But the flip side tells me this “congress critter” already has family members, friends or friends of friends lined up to take advantage of the new government handout. She will no doubt collect her 10% just like the Big Guy and everybody else in the Den of Thieves (commonly referred to as Congress).🙄
