The Carnival Freedom became the third Florida-based cruise ship this week to be hit with a COVID-19 outbreak, according to the company.

The vessel, which was scheduled to return to Miami Sunday following an 8-day journey, has since been denied entry to Bonaire and Aruba, Carnival said in a statement.

The idea of a pandemic of the un-vaccinated is getting a bit ragged.

Thanks for the PING.

I figure in the next few days as these cruise ships return to Florida, and other ports, the press will go out of their way to beat up on them.

Several ships will be coming back with covid passengers and crew. This will give the press a chance to interview the vaccinated disgruntled passengers.

The cruise lines are reacting by coming up with more restrictions, which will reduce the number of future passengers; as they try to bring in more ships for cruising.

Certainly not a good position to be in, when you owe coeditors Billions of dollars. -Tom

Not a single incident from any cruise ships based out of Kansas.

Truly a cruise to nowhere filled with COVID infected people who love cheesy lounge acts and all you can eat buffets.

What’s wrong with them? They should’ve got vaccinated.

The successor to Peter Gunn was Mr.Lucky, partly based on a Cary Grant movie. Guy keeps his ship outside the limit so the city just lets him have wide open gambling on board.

Today the cruise ships could have prostitution and illegal narcotics deals and use on board during the convenient quarantines. Sorry, guys, you cops are not allowed to board. Covid rules, you know.

LOL. Stop it, it's too funny. Vaccinations working? What next? Don't tell the government----they'll never get the joke.

Aruba
Curacao
Yucatan peninsula

Cozumel
Belize
Key West

We did a cruise for our honeymoon that most people have never heard of....a very small ship that anchored off the cruise lines’ private island in the Bahamas for 3 days and nights.

The island had a large beach, full outdoor kitchen, bars, shops and an amphitheater which provided entertainment every night.

A large part of the crew worked on the island so you could hang out there and get much of the same food, drinks and service you could get on the ship.

Of course that was in the early 90s....a cruise line would never think of doing that nowadays...they want people in the casino spending their kids inheritance and college tuition.

Are these cases or sick people?

Are they testing all of the passengers every day?

That’s enough right there to make me not want to go on one of these things.

As usual, no breakdown of the symptoms, if any. But the Democrats will cite this to keep the fear going, and the anti-vaxxers will cite this as proof that the vaccines are ineffective.

I’m a bit confused on this.

I missed the 2nd ship and was already wondering about something. A 3rd ship perplexes me in reference to ‘Florida-based’:

Can a FReeper post a reference to where DeSantis opted to permit the cruise lines to operate out of Florida despite their ‘vaccine’ requirements, if that’s what happened?

My last knowledge of the matter is that he banned their operating out of Florida. Did DeSantis lose his appeal against the cruise lines? I will concede simple ignorance as to whether the first ship was Florida based and whether this ship was 100% fully ‘vaxxed’ like the first one.

Sounds like you might have done the Barefoot Cruiseline? ... yeah, gambling on a ship doesn’t sound wise as there’s no other competing casino to walk to.

https://nypost.com/2021/12/24/navy-combat-ship-uss-milwaukee-sidelined-over-covid-19/

A US Navy combat ship has delayed its deployment to South America due to a COVID-19 outbreak among the crew, officials said Friday.

The USS Milwaukee, which deployed from Mayport, Fla. on Dec. 15 will remain in port at Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, where it had stopped for a scheduled visit.

It wasn’t disclosed how many cases were detected. The Navy said “a portion” of those who tested positive have mild symptoms.

The infected are in isolation, the Navy said.

The ship’s crew is “100 percent” vaccinated, the Navy said

Let me guess; had to be vaxxed to get on the ship?

“Those cruise ships are like Petri Dishes; full of disease when a breakout occurs. E Coli, norovirus, Norwalk Infection, travelers’ diarrhea and now Covid. Why take the chance?”

I’ve been on many cruises. They were cleaner than most of the ports we went to or other places I’ve vacationed. I’m living my life and will not be a “boy in the bubble”.

That said, I wouldn’t book a cruise now because of the potential changes in itinerary, ports and disembarking. My vacation time is too valuable to roll the dice with it being quarantined for days.
