President Joe Biden's administration turned down a plan in late October laid out by COVID-19 testing experts to manufacture and send over 700 million rapid COVID-19 at-home tests to Americans ahead of the holidays, according to Vanity Fair.IU
On October 25, according to the report, public health experts from the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health, the COVID Collaborative, and the Rockefeller Foundation presented the 10-page plan on a ZOOM call with White House officials. The plan was calling for a "Testing Surge to Prevent Holiday COVID Surge."
In order to accomplish that, the experts told the White House that at least 732 million rapid at-home COVID-19 antigen tests needed to be produced per month and to be sent to American citizens ahead of the holiday season, Vanity Fair reported.
"We did not have capacity to manufacture over-the-counter tests at that scale," a Biden official who was present for the presentation told Vanity Fair, citing FDA approval processes.
Biden said in a speech on Monday that his administration would provide 500 million free at-home COVID test kits for Americans affected by the Omicron variant surge.
On Thursday, President Biden told ABC News, that, "I wish I had thought about ordering" the 500 million tests, "two months ago."

What Laboratories Should Know:
There are no authorized, cleared, or approved diagnostic tests to specifically detect SARS-CoV-2 variants (Omicron or other variants). Currently, COVID-19 tests are designed and authorized to check broadly for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, not for specific variants.
The Omicron variant has a deletion in the spike (S) gene (Δ69-70). Some molecular tests with multiple genetic targets include a target covering the portion of the S gene where the deletion occurs. The presence of this mutation can result in an S-gene target failure (SGTF, also referred to as an S-gene drop out). The S-gene target will fail (return as negative) while other targets are expected to remain positive in the presence of this virus. SGTF can signal the need for sequencing to characterize the variant in a specimen.
SGTF has been observed in other variants and thus is not specific to the Omicron variant
When one can refer to the sometimes “beloved” CDC and find information such as this, those who cite the CDC as secular gospel ignore Data such as this. This would include all the previous “variants” breathlessly announced in past months.
Continuing the citation: “Results regarding the presence of the Omicron variant, or any other variant, should not be reported back to patients or providers and cannot be used for diagnostic purposes.”

Bet “Dr” Jill is pushing back HARD to keep her title a while longer but even she has to see the writing on the wall.
The bigger question, in my mind, is if they will get rid of Kamala prior to throwing Joe under the bus...and if they do, WHO will be put into place to take the top spot when Joe is FINALLY put out to pasture?

It’s useless. It might keep a few moral people at home if they test positive, but I’d wager most will think to themselves “I feel fine, it’s probably a false positive, I’m going out” so it will have little or no benefit. If you are feeling sick, you probably weren’t going out anyway.
What a gigantic waste of our money. But that is ALL the damned government is good for. What a thoroughly corrupt, crooked enterprise.

I read a story that the plan was to slide her on the Supreme Court to “retire Breyer” but Breyer is p*ssed that they want him to retire and he’s not much older than Biden.
