The U.S. military must start making preparations for another "insurrection" after the 2024 election, according to a trio of retired military generals.
An op-ed published by the Washington Post on Friday called for action amid growing concern among former senior officials about the "potential for lethal chaos inside our military" in a flash of violence that could eclipse the Capitol riot on Jan. 6.

I really wonder if, we the supporters, would do anything! My fear says no.
Same thing happened in Nazi Germany when Jews allowed to be marched into trains and camps and gas bldgs. I have often wondered how they let that happen. Now I know
Anger may stir the people to act. ANGER. Fear does not.

Are you sure?
A civil war in the US will result in an invasion by Putin and Xi.

So after Trump or DeSantis win in ‘24, exactly which insurrection are they worried about…?
What about the Capitol riot on January 20, 2017?
President Trump was so respectful of the military, always honoring them, budgeting money for them, yet in the end, the generals not only said bad things about him, but they act against the best interests of the country.
Chinese hoards would probably be easily identified anyhow.
And this is what became POTUS.
You really think we can win?
It wasn't until 82 or so that PT was run on athletic shoes. Before that, I was doing my runs in jump boots.
These retired generals are so out of touch, it's pathetic. They're no longer leaders by any definition, they're political animals seeking to be noticed again.
My advice to them would be to read Once An Eagle. We need more Sam Damons, not Courtney Massengales.
One day I was talking with a Physician who was then a Full Bird, 10-12 years ago. Reserves I think, because he was always around the hospital, older fellow. He recommended that book to me.
I did not tell him that I had already read it. Yeah, Sam Damon obviously born to be a Soldier, and Courtney Massingale, always the conniver and just a bit ahead in rank of Damon all the way up.
Two sides of one coin.
"After retiring from the Army in 2006 Eaton was a frequent guest on various media outlets, where he often criticized the George W. Bush administration's prosecution of the Iraq War. In 2007, Eaton appeared in a political ad for VoteVets.org, similar to the ones prepared by retired Army Major General John Batiste.[6]
Eaton asserted that President George W. Bush did not heed the advice given by his military commanders.[citation needed] Eaton appeared on Bill Maher's HBO talk show and spoke out strongly against those who launched the Iraq War. In 2008 Eaton served as an advisor to Senator Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign. Following Clinton's concession of the Democratic primary, Eaton has made several appearances in support of Senator Barack Obama's presidential campaign. In July 2016, Eaton appeared in a political campaign ad critical of Donald Trump, using the catchphrase "Too Dangerous for America."
MG Anthony Taguba:
"In 2004, Taguba was assigned to report on abuse of prisoners in Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq.[16] In May of that year, he published an extremely critical report that was leaked to the public"
BG Steven Anderson:
"In a wrongful-discharge case involving Brigadier General (ret.) Steven Anderson, the 4th Circuit reversed a district-court decision and upheld an in-house-lawyer-led internal investigation into Anderson’s alleged conflict of interests."
Here is what EVERYONE needs to know about “retired generals”.
There are three kinds.....
1) those who actually retire and live outside the beltway bubble - tend to be conservative
2) those who take jobs outside of DC (outside the bubble) - tend to be conservative
3) and the majority, those who cash in on their rank and stay inside the bubble to work as lobbyist, consultants, and most commonly take board positions with companies doing work with the federal government. The board position gig is very lucrative and easy work. This group affiliates with democrat/big government policies like 90% plus of the bubble.
If you bother to go through this letter or those written to bash Trump in the last few years you can check where they are on the list above via a simple web search. It would make for an interesting and easy investigative journalist project. I promise you the pro and negative Trump letters would be eye-opening and follow this closely.
Follow the money. These men are playing politics to increase or protect their earning potential inside the beltway. When a “flag officer” pulls 6 figure positions (often several) inside the swamp working for swamp companies or lobbying congress are they really giving their military view or simply echoing the desires of those who pay them?
The Pentagon has become a true swamp where MOST of those wearing stars are worried more about their retirement gigs than they are about our national defense. Just my .02
we need names.... of all the generals or flag officers that signed this.
I was also the Dining Facility Officer, where I grew exceedingly weary of retired field grade officers. They liked to use my dining facility for their meetings, and usually got upset when they weren't waited on hand and foot.
They liked to bitch to my CO, and of course the fecal matter rolled downhill.
Perhaps I shouldn't have said "of course". My last Battalion Commander in Germany would have told them to get their own damn coffee, his soldiers had better things to do.
Generals like this are Xi’s best friend—and the best friend of the Chinese People’s Army. When the war come (and it will, folks) the enemy will not care about your sexual orientation or your skin color-—We will lose big. I don’t think Biden can unify the nation to face this—he will wave the white flag. This war (WW IV) we may not win.
Jill Biden & Susan Rice have enough sense to dodge a war with China.
Taiwan is on its own. I wish the people of Taiwan the best of luck and hope they have good nuclear bomb design software.
