House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) will run for reelection, hoping to extend her time in the House past the midterms next year, according to a report from CNN.
Pelosi is planning to file for reelection in the San Francisco-based district next year, CNN reported. However, Pelosi still has months before the filing deadline in California for House races, as the state’s filing deadline is March 11 for the primary set on June 7.

The original CNN story is based on nothing more than some conversations with dem party officials. She didn’t file, didn’t sign any leases or contracts for campaign staff, just talk... probably with just one source.
It’s a push story to try to encourage the dem donors to keep their wallets open.
Pelosi’s value to the democrats is as the last reqlly big establishment player in donor circles. The Kennedys are done, the Clinton’s are circling the bowl (and remember that Hillary just popped up to answer questions nobody was asking last week), whatever Midwest strength there was is long passed over...
Cuomo and MacAuliffe were supposed to be leading the establishment wing after the Clinton’s, Newsome was supposed to inherit stick from Pelosi, but the Cuomos are done, MacAuliffe is going to have to shake off that loser smell, and Newsome is a white guy with very limited appeal outside California and even less after Pelosi finally stands down.
Once she’s gone, it’s going to be the Obamas and the socialists driving the Dem party. And they’re going to steer it hard left very quickly. This is going to cause a backlash on the Republican side because a lot of big donor interests are going to be looking for candidates to gather around to support big tech, big pharma, big defense, etc... and they won’t find them among the candidates favored by Trump.

Had to look that up as it didn’t make any sense - born and raised in Southern CA, went to college in Southern CA and he was elected to represent a district in Northern CA? Read what I could find but it still didn’t make sense. How weird!! Don’t see him described as a “carpetbagger.”
There were people in NYC who voted write in for FDR and LaGuardia as late as 1960.

All these old bastards, both sides, know they have the best gig in the USA. Sure, some people insult you, hate you, get mad at you; but others love and cover for you. Then there is the pay, benefits, health care; prestige, travel benefits, fake honor given to you because you fooled enough people to get elected.

But if Biden is out and Harris rises into the White House, Harris gets to choose her VP. She will choose Pelosi because the House has to approve the nomination and they will not deny one of their own.
She’ll run, but when the GOP takes the House she will suddenly resign 1/1/2022 for family reasons. She can’t afford to not run because it will be admitting the tidal wave that is coming.

I’ve got one those people who think the entire organization revolves around them.
This individual will sign on at some unreal early hour and stay on and on plus weekends. All that person does is push paper and sales orders.
I go through my share of grief with said person.
Usually over something trivial but it’s the end of the world to that person.
Don’t be so confident of that, in fact her decision to run again may hinge on it. She may have just been guaranteed sweeping D victories in the midterm.
One foot in the grave and she’s not letting go......
