At the outset of the Biden administration, Vice President Kamala Harris was a media darling, portrayed as the heir apparent and always willing to make a public appearance.
In fact, the White House was so high on Ms. Harris in the early days that it instructed media to, “Please be sure to reference the current administration as the ‘Biden-Harris Administration’ in official public communications.”
That was then; this is now.
For the last few months, as the Biden administration has tried to juggle multiple crises, Ms. Harris has kept a very low profile.
As an avid news observer, I cannot recall the last time Ms. Harris sat down for a hard-hitting interview or held a news conference of any substance. In fact, ever since President Joe Biden declared her “border czar,” the vice president has been almost absent from the public eye.
Perhaps that is because as border czar, Ms. Harris has failed miserably. The American people are fully aware that the southern border is a sieve. In 2021, on Ms. Harris’ watch, more than 1.7 million immigrants have illegally crossed the southern border. Drugs, especially fentanyl, are pouring over the southern border in record amounts.
Human trafficking is also running rampant along the U.S.-Mexico border. As border czar, Ms. Harris has been an absolute debacle. To date, she has made one token appearance at the border, when she complained about “rhetoric and finger-pointing.”
Instead of dealing with the fraught situation at the border, Ms. Harris said she would rather focus on the “root causes” of the problem. However, months after becoming border czar, the situation is becoming worse, not better.

She's either hiding to avoid a public show of incompetence, or force her out to make her prove her incompetence to the public.

I hope this doesn’t turn into yet another stupid threat that implies Biden is about to fire her. It doesn’t work that way.
1) They could shift her over to the Supreme Court, but I don’t really see the Senate confirming Harris to a lifetime appointment at SCOTUS.
2) They could just kill her.
3) They could stage a scandal and try to force her to resign for her corruption. Hey — do you think she might have something to say about Joe, and Hunter, and all the other top Democrats? Pretty dangerous to throw dirt at Kamala. She just might fight back.
The options are pretty limited here. Everyone knows she sucks at the job. And everyone should also know that she’t not leaving.

1. Assume the office of the President if the President leaves office or is incapacitated.
2. Serve as President of the Senate and cast votes there only to break ties.
That’s it. Anything else the VP does is just “make-work” that is given to him or her for the purpose of political optics.
