Sacramento, CA — California Gov. Gavin Newsom announced on Saturday that since the Supreme Court allowed the Texas pro-life law to stand, his state would take their lead. He said he had instructed his staff to draft a bill that would follow the same guidelines as Texas against those who may sell ghost guns or “assault weapons” in the state of California.

I missed the part in the constitution that said a woman’s right to abort her baby shall not be infringed.
Savage was right, liberalism is a mental disorder.

Aren’t assault weapons already illegal in California?

Ignore it and buy all the equipment & parts needed to build your own defensive weapons. The CA government doesn’t stop the gangs, illegals or looters.

How did texas shield their laws from scotus review, exactly?
Scotus did review this. They didnt agree to bring it up to them. Probably because they were not at odds with the lower courts findings. So they didnt waste their time.

Since the Supremes have heard arguments in
NYSRPA v. Bruen and are now writing opinions this is a particularly auspicious time for Newsom to be mouthing off about limiting gun rights.
With any luck the decision, which is due out before the end of June 2022, will cut this kind of crap off.

Texas did not ban abortion.
So Newsome starts with a false premise.
