Mike Pence is “ashamed” of Donald Trump over the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol and will run against him in 2024 for his base, said Alyssa Farah, who served as a press secretary for the former vice president from 2017 to 2019.

There is a huge majority of Republican voters who would never consider voting for Mike Pence under any conceivable circumstance. That makes him undetectable. So what is he up to? Playing ‘spoiler’? You’d have to be able to get maybe 10% of the votes in the Republican primary, and even then you’d be an early-out.

This story has little substance, with no firm evidence that Pence is considering a Presidential run. The woman interviewed was not on his staff in 2020. I think most concede that if Trump chooses to run in 2024, the GOP nomination is his. If not, I would think DeSantis would be the frontrunner if he decides to run. I doubt that any high profile RINO or Never Trumper would want the embarrassment of defeat.

I think that Farah got it wrong.

I think that Pence is ashamed of how he himself cowardly responded to the rigged election. Pence had the opportunity to show real leadership. I do not blame him for taking a pass. The risk to him was very high because the corrupt Democrats would have tried to destroy him.
