Yeah right Mitch, you gutless wondered.
One day after the Senate approved a temporary lift to the U.S. debt ceiling, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell wrote in a letter to President Joe Biden that he would not aid Democrats again in raising the debt limit.

Sure, sure. We believe you.
Congress.....
Marblemouth talking tough.
This is Schumer’s way of dealing with the radical leftists in the House and Senate. The goal here is to raise the debt limit while giving Schumer an excuse NOT to pass that stupid $3.5 trillion disaster of a spending bill.
You already screwed up McConnell, along with your other 10 traitors to this nation.
Turtleneck is a moron.
Bingo. How naive can Mitch be? Been in Washington how long? Since 1985.
Just figured out the ‘rats are not your friend.
Trump nailed him. Loser
I lost count how many times has he said that.
We aren't governed by our betters.
Pique at remarks should NEVER interfere with business that affects third-party strangers. McConnell would scotch a program based on remarks that pissed him off? Juvenile.
I don’t know a single person who votes for a candidate based on the US debt ceiling when it comes time to vote.
Quietly, you’ll have to dig to find it, but quietly the Federal Reserve has already established procedures for if there were no debt ceiling increase, and these procedures were defined years ago during the last impasse. There is no Apocalypse event.
The Fed will buy T bonds in default with money they create from thin air (just as they do now, but with non defaulted bonds). They will sell other non defaulted bonds to do some sort of optical offset. There will thus be no significant financial disaster.
This has been going on since 2008, people. Conservative ideology always wants to measure policy in funding, but look deeper. Where does money come from? Not taxpayers. That is just primitive and silly. It comes from the Federal Reserve. Bernanke pretty much was forced to do this and the last 10 years have been spent enshrouding the process in complex phraseology (quantitative ease) when the simplistic (and correct) phrasing is . . . create money from nothingness, buy US govt bonds (and mortgage backed securities) with that money that came from nothing.
Why doesn’t this fall apart? Because every country in the world is doing the same thing — to prevent the system from falling apart.
Mitch will cave.
Every time.
Why doesn’t Turtle get on the Democrat controlled House for not producing an annual budget as ordered in the constitution?
All he has to do is say, “I’ll act when the House passes the required budget.”
When you pass a budget, there are no debt ceilings to fool with, you are good for the year.
More like greedy, irresponsible, power-hungry bastards trying to figure out a way to gain or remain in power even if it means endangering the future of the nation.
He's learned very well how to screw over this base and still get reelected.
It's those that keep reelecting Republicans like McConnel that never learn.
LOL. The thing is, this isn’t the first time the rats have rolled the GOP then openly gloated about it. If nothing else, the lack of self-respect in the GOO leadership is off the charts incredible
The GOP didn't, McConnell did.
Sometimes I just gotta take the low-hanging fruit.
That wasn't some kind of sexual preference shot, that would have had to involve Linda Graham.
Oh, see, I went and did it again.
This was a pretty cagey move by McConnell, but as he's dealing with President Adult Diapers, it probably will fail.
